Hope that Pierce to Cleveland deal drops as well. There could be a lot of good talent at the back end of this years draft.

This is seriously unbelievable. I took a nap woke up and its back on again? What i am wondering in the KG part of the deal (whenever that happens) can we get their 25th pick in this draft as well? Or will they maybe just draft for us and send the rookie in the deal?

If we get 2014 for Doc, they would have to make the 2013 pick for us and then complete the trade for KG afterwards.  Or they can just give us Bledsoe to make the process easier.

I don't.  I'd hate to see Pierce finishing his career on a team like Cleveland.

Doc first

Then Prolly KG for Jordan and maybe another pick (barf)

Pierce is the mystery...gotta think the clipper want him to play SF

Awesome deal, great job Danny! A 2014 1st rounder is great value for Doc.

Well we'll see what happens now. Is there anyway the Celtics come out of dealing KG,Pierce,Terry, and Lee and end up with cap room?

I hope the that deal happens, a 15 million dollar trade exception is huge. That exception, plus two picks in the 2014 draft, and Sullinger and Bradley is a lot of assets to land a superstar player.

I imagine if we get a 2014 pick, it will be HEAVILY protected.  What if Chris Paul still bolts or KG gets injured/retires... that Clipper team could end up having a disappointing season.

They offered it protected in negotiations awhile back Ainge shot it down, I'm hearing Ainge now wants the 2015 pick instead in hopes like you said they implode by then.  ;D

Depends what player you want, I guess.  If you're after one of Utah's big men, then sure, it's a solid deal.  If you want to trade with Atlanta, I'm not sure it matters as much since a) it caps what the Celtics can offer Smith at $15.3 million, which could be about $1.5 less than his max deal, and b) If you can get better assets by helping another team clear payroll, it helps with Atlanta, since they can take back that payroll assuming they don't get Howard and Paul.  Their plan b is to tank and get Wiggins (a fine plan B I think, as opposed to it being a plan A), which means that they would like young players, future picks, and expirings, since they have a minimum payroll to hit.  Get enough for Pierce and KG, and I think Smith and Horford are a very real possibility.  I think that deal is tougher with a trade exception.

But I'm sure we'll know much more by this time next week (Thank Goodness)!
