Word is that T.Rob is available for a pick that can pull some euro talent.  Would you move the 16 for T.Rob.

here is a clip...

We're gonna get him. He was the most NBA-ready player in the draft last year, we're gonna snag him for a first (hopefully).

we're not getting t-rob, you have your hopes high if you think we even have a chance.

Why do you say that?  Houston is trying to get rid of him to clear cap space for a run at Dwight.  A mid-first round pick is probably a decent deal for them, and I really doubt they'd get much more for him from anybody else.  He didn't exactly light the world on fire last year.

Have you watched him play? he was not nba ready. Sullinger was for sure, but not t-rob.  It's incredible that already a 2nd team is trying to trade him, despite Robinson not spending a year in the league.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
I would do this at draft day if Shabazz/Schroeder/another steal aren't available.

Stats...

T.Rob
15 min = 5 points  5 boards (free throws are the killer)

Sully
19 min = 6 points 6 boards (back is the killer)

He's an above average athlete for sure. He also has above average hustle. I'm a big fan. This is the type of player we want running on the open court.

We would trade the 16th pick in a crappy draft for what the 5th or sixth pick in a good draft last year? No hesitation.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That's what I'm saying.  This pick isn't worth much this year.  If you have an opportunity to flip it for an asset - even a flawed one - you do it.

I would be fine with this deal if Schroeder is off the board, and if KG isn't coming back.  We need a backup point, and T-Rob would likely create a logjam with Bass and Sully for minutes, while not offering much that's different.  With limited roster space and resources, I don't know that he's the best fit to make this team much better.

If there was a redraft Robinson surely wouldn't go 5 or 6.

Probably not but he's only one year into the league give him a little bit of time to develop before we judge him. If he was in this year's draft I bet he would still be a top 10 pick.

Well he'd arguably go higher in this draft.

This is strange to me, too. The fact that he's about to be traded a second time.

Some argue the Rockets are selling him short for cap relief. But isn't a rookie contract insignificant?

I worry that it might be some behind the scenes stuff, like the possibility that he's "uncoachable" and such.

Color me intrigued with some caution. I'd definitely say yes to 16 for him.

However, as reported by this article, Houston is not specifying what pick they want. Perhaps they're just more excited about one of the higher picks this draft than T-Rob.
