A second rounder does absolutely nothing for us in terms of our rebuild, while on the other hand Doc cements CP3 staying. This is foolish on the Clippers part.
Danny seriously needs to just tell them his final offer and only take a call from them saying yes. No more negotiating.
We need to start working on a deal for PP so we can move him pre-draft.
The Clippers are going to look like fools if this thing doesn't get done. Yes the Celtics miss out on getting an asset, but thats not a make or break deal for us, it'll just be nice to have.
if the clippers didn't already know that another coach would keep cp3 here, do you honestly believe they would hold back a 1st round pick and risk losing paul? nope
I didn't say that CP3 would leave if they didn't get Doc. I said getting Doc would
cement CP3 staying.
I'd say Paul staying is still the most likely end result, but every day this carries on the Clippers look worse and worse to Paul and everyone else in the league. All this over a first round pick that is most likely in the 25-30 range.
Yeah it also reflects badly on the Celtics, but we are going into full rebuild mode, not trying resign a superstar. The Clippers have been a long suffering franchise, why leave any risk that you could lose CP3 the gift from God, sorry I meant Stern, himself over a pick that in the grand scheme of things means nothing?
What do the Celtics realistically have to lose if this doesn't go through? 27th pick in 2015? Hell Sacks isn't even offerring that to us!
What do the Clippers have to lose? Chris
Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ING PAUL! Again I still think he probably resigns, but this sure as hell isn't helping your case, whereas getting Doc most likely seals the deal.
Paul doesn't like Hollins, you guys aren't sold on Shaw and I really don't think come July you want to be trying to sell Paul on Scott when Dallas may have just cleared enough room to bring in Howard AND Paul to create their own big 3.
As I said, it would be nice to get a late first for Doc, but really makes very little difference for us long term and who knows maybe Doc decides he would rather coach in Denver than sit in a booth and we get one anyway. If we don't get it, so what?
We really have nothing to lose. Who the hell thought we would be trading Doc anyway? I just assumed he was going to walk for nothing. You on the other hand are increasing your chances, however small they may be, at losing Paul and your relevance. I'd be p---ed if I was a Clippers fan.
