He'll probably sit out a large chunk of the season (or the entire season like Rose).  We also could still trade him.  Boston is in tank mode.

I'd guess that he'll really round into his earlier form about a year after his surgery.

In a league that's so deep with talent at the point, who'd want him for picks (especially 2014 picks)?

Rondo's hypercompetitiveness has reportedly had him on a rehab tear.  I look to have him back and showcased for a trade by midseason at latest.

I don't think we will clear him right away to help with the tankage.

And the inevitable "Rondo's got a new teammate and he's going to throw him a pass absolutely no one is expecting and the dude is going to fumble it away because he's not speaking Rondo fluently" pass. Those are fun, even if they're turnovers.
Cousy used to do that. He'd make passes *nobody* thought he was going to make, passes where it looked like he had eyes in the back of his head.

Bird did it, too. I go to youtube to watch old Bird clips as much for his passing as his scoring. :)

Rondo *can* be that good. He's going to have to be, if he's the franchise player in Boston.

Amazing thread... Rondo is our franchise player, even if he may be no better than our #3 option of offense. But he's the best player in our roster, and I wouldn't trade him for any player outside LeBroid, Durant, CP3 and maybe Marc Gasol or Paul George.

Next season this team is going to lose a lot of games, and Rondo and maybe Sully will see limited minutes until the month of february/march. But for the 2014/2015 expect a beast mode Rondo playing with a good to great supporting cast and winning us a lot of games.

Go Celtics!

It's too bad that he is 28 and we are entering a rebuild phase soon. We may never get to see him at his peak on another good Celtics team.

He's not 28.  He'll turn 28 in February of 2014.

Yeah, I just picked up Bill Reynold's book Cousy, and what do I read in the jacket sleeve?

Well that sounds curiously familiar... ;D
