Can we restructure Pierce's contract?

I read somewhere that this is possible through crafty maneuvers that I know nothing about.

If it is - perhaps it would be a viable option to get Pierce back for less money and keep some veteran experience around to help our younger squad? I think Pierce has at LEAST a season of quality ball left in him, and having at least one original veteran will probably help leaps and bounds.

Or is it best to just say goodbye and let Green start at the 3?
