Trading Pierce for expirings will be harder than expected, because of those last none-exercisable year clauses, like the one on Shawn Marion's contract (or Biedrins). If not, Pierce and a future first (2016 pick should be in the late twenties

) for Mayo+Marion+Carter and the #13 would be a win-win.
Orlando could also be willing to give us a future first (I doubt they would give us this year's pick) if we eat Turkoglu's horrid contract next year plus filler (Q-Rich?). They could use the Dwight tpe to get a good player and stay under the cap that way.
Golden State can give you Richardson+Rush and their 2015 pick, but there isn't a lot of upside in that.
Another way could be take a step back, and make something like Pierce and #16 for Nene+Vesely and #5. Washington might or might not like to be repeat tax payer next season, and they avoid it by buying out Pierce before 30th of June.
A crazier trade could be Pierce+Bass for Boozer+Rip Hamilton and their owned 2014 Bobcats pick (top 10 protected in 2014, top 8 in 2015 and unprotected in 2016). Chicago could keep Pierce or buy him out to let him go to LA with KG/Doc, but the thought of Pierce playing in the St Patrick Bulls Green unis makes me want to puke.
I think DA will find a way to not lose the Captain for nothing. My favorite would be getting Orlando's #2 to pick Nerlens Noel. That way you rehab Noel, Rondo and Sully, and suck enough to get a great pick in 2014, then you can have a beast combination to start winning a lot in the 2014-2015:
Rondo
Wiggins (dream scenario)
Green
Sully
Noel
Who's the GM in Orlando? Promise him our 2015 draft pick unprotected in exchange and let's do it.
