Boston cannot give up any of their future picks because those are going to be lottery picks. I would force Doc to retire and not let him coach anywhere else.
I would tell KG play your contract or retire. I would buy PP out
Jordan and 2 low picks are not worth anything boston would have to send back in picks
And just *how* are you going to force Doc to retire? Here's how.
Pierce, I'd trade for current best value...period. If that's to the Pelicans, Bobcats, or Kings so be it. If it's to the Clippers, Dallas, Golden State, where ever, but I'd do it 25 cents on the dollar if that's all I could get. Better anything than just dump him. However it was done, though, before the draft, Pierce would no longer be a Celtic.
I would then tell KG he can stay here, retire, or waive his NTC for wherever we want to trade him, his choice. However, let him know that if he stays the team is going to be "developing assets" (ie. tanking) and he will be playing very limited minutes. Then proceed with other deals and the season under the assumption that KG retires or sits on the bench stewing.
Do both those things and then tell Doc, "we're rebuilding, get on board with developing assets and losing a *lot* of games this year, or retire, your choice."
I can't imagine Danny doing that, but that's about the only way I see where the C's could "force Doc to retire", and even then he could still refuse and stay.
I can imagine the uproar here if Danny did it, though.
