A solution to what?

Solution to the never ending talks between Celts and Clippers.

Jameer Nelson is one washed up dude. You remember him complaining that Bradley was guarding him too much?

Haha, yeah I remember that.  Nelson won't like practice too much if AB is still around.

I say NO to this trade idea.  Keep Rondo at least until next year to see how things develop.  He might be worth a lot more than you are proposing, and he might even be better when he gets back.

I love how everyone in the first page of this thread instantly dismisses this idea as "rondo for jameer" ...

Some of you would make truly awful GMs... I wish you were employed by Celtic rivals.

So, why not leave Rondo and Nelson out of it?

Start with a framework of:

Clippers get KG, Afflalo
Celtics get Caron Butler, Tobias Harris, #2 pick from Orlando
Magic get Bledsoe, Jordan, Celtics 2013 first, two firsts from the Clippers

Add some second round picks to adjust value.  ESPN trade machine gives all teams negative wins for this deal.

It breaks down to:
Clippers trade Bledsoe and Butler for Afflalo and a second
Clippers trade Jordan, two firsts, and the Magic second for KG
Celtics trade Jordan, the two firsts from the Clippers, the Magic's second (sending it back to where it came from) and their own pick in 2013 for the #2 pick overall, with Butler and Harris thrown in to balance salaries

I feel like it needs some tweaking and second-round picks may not be enough to get it done, but I think there is a framework there for an interesting deal that is close enough that people might want to play with it and try to add enough to make it seem reasonable.

EDIT: You can also throw in Lee or Terry for Nelson as part of the deal.

I had actually considered a BOS/ORL/LAC 3 way deal but I don't like the OP's proposed trade, not enough value at all for BOS.

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6284383

That deal, with LAC sending a future 1st to Orlando, Boston sending #16 to ORL & ORL sending #2 to Boston would be a lot better rebuilding trade. No sense in keeping Green if Rondo is gone, same with Lee. Also think LAC is more inclined to give up Bledsoe if they're getting Afflalo too. Bledsoe/Bradley/Harris/Sullinger/Vucevic/2nd overall pick is a really strong young core.

Well at least explain how you think this trade is a good deal then.

Sorry if we all are throwing up in our mouths thinking about a J Nelson led celtics team.  This is one instance where the stat comparison between JN and RR doesn't tell the whole story.  Basically it seems the big prize is the 2nd pick in this draft.  I think RR is worth more than that myself.  I guess the trade exception is nice though too.  It is an out of the box idea.  +1 for originality.

By far the best asset in the trade idea is the #2 pick and this has Boston getting it.   Acting like its "jameer for rondo" isn't honest.

#2 pick in the weakest draft ever.

Just so we all have this straight.  You would dump RR for a Ben McLemore (looks like a popular pick at #2) type player?  Nothing else, just the #2 pick in this draft?  Assuming the rest of the trade is like for like...
