You forgot Boston.

I hate pointless posts like these. Not going along with the spirit of the thread, not even articulating an argument why you're disagreeing. Pointless.

I actually like the Milwaukee idea for the Celtics.

I think Ilyasova is a nice player and Drew Gooden gives us some size.

I also like the Bobcats idea.

I've always been a Ben Gordon fan and Tyrus Thomas also gives us some size (mean size, at that.)

None of the ideas presented here excite me...sorry.

I think Danny would like to keep Pierce, but can't because of the salary. I think he would like to send him to LA, because that would be a nice thing to do for Paul, if he can't stay in Boston. Beyond that, I don't have any idea what direction Danny is going to go.

Pierce might "land" on the waiver wire, or as an UFA.

Pierce might go to some "undesirable" team for assets (picks/TE/young player) or for a lower-level starter.

Who knows?

trade him to any team with cap space able to absorb Paul's salary.  If you can get a 2nd rounder out of it, might as well do it.

According to some soucres, the Milwaukee Bucks have talked with the Boston Celtics about trading for Paul Pierce.  It is unclear who the Bucks would trade for Pierce.

If the Bucks want Pierce for Pierce (and they are not in salary cap hell), then they could be discussing a framework for a sign-and-trade for Monta Ellis or Brandon Jennings or even pieces like Samuel Dalembert, Mike Dunleavy, or JJ Redick.  They could just be discussing who they would like to see the other team draft if they were going to consider including draft rights to those players in a trade.

Maybe they're even discussing Pierce, Sullinger, and draft picks for Larry Sanders and contracts if Sanders is insisting on a max extension and the team wants to sell high.  Well, maybe not, but Ainge would probably try.

While my first choice would be to have pierce retire as a Celtic, if I had to trade him, I'd do it for anyone who would be willing to give up a good 2014 pick.

If you work under the assumption that no one is giving up a good 2014 pick, what else are you willing to accept in trade?

DA has always seemed to covet Redick, Im not sure how he would fit into the current plans but maybe a Redick + Gooden + 1st rd pick for Pierce?

What if Ainge has hopes he can negotiate a sign-and-trade for both Redick and Dalembert?  Let's say $6m each, or just enough to outbid teams trying to use the MLE to sign either, while decreasing the Celtics payroll.  If Ainge could then flip Courtney Lee as part of a package for Millsap, that might satisfy Ainge's criteria for adding enough talent to be at least a borderline contender.

Not sure what the parts coming back would be, but for OKC landing Pierce would make a lot of sense.

Since Westrbook isn't much of a passer and playmaker having Pierce as a playmaker in their offense, as well as a guy who can stretch the floor, would be huge.  As well as the veteran presence.

I would. I am noticing scoring gets overlooked by many. I would love to have a guy like Ellis who can put up points in bunches.
