How about trading PP for Kirilenko+Rubio
Good luck with that one champ.
I like some of those trades. Wish we had managed to pick up Barnes earlier last season.
Unrelated question, and maybe this is something I'm just missing... what's the purpose of trading one expiring contract for another (or others)? If that's the only option, why not just let Pierce retire a Celtic?
Edit: I missed Sketch5's post above. Looks like he is proposing we just stand pat in this scenario, too.
The idea would be to get back expiring deals and a draft pick, which they would part with for the opportunity to waive PP and get the cap room.
If you check out the OP's suggestion in green he has 2 expirings and a lottery protected pick coming back to us.
Of the deals on that list I don't think the Pacers, PIstons, Bucks, Knicks, Kings or Suns deals are realistic. Pacers seem intent on keeping Granger, Pistons aren't competing at the moment, Bucks don't have enough trash to give up for a guy they'd waive, Knicks ain't happening, Kings have more problems than salary dumping and the Suns probably don't want to have to give up the picks required to move those bad contracts.
The Nets would definitely be interested, but I don't think they'd give up that much unless they had another deal lined up and really needed the space. They'd probably balk at both Brooks and a first, it'd be one or the other.
I think the Warriors would make a ton of sense. I'd like Ezeli and a first back if possible (or Draymond Green).
The Dallas deal sounds good if we get the 13th pick, especially if we could move Marion and/or Carter near the deadline to a contender.
I wouldn't want Nelson's contract back, but I'd take back Turkoglu's terrible 11m if we could get one of their young pieces.
I'd take back Bargs from Toronto, but most people here probably disagree with me (I'd want a future 1st too).
