In Big Al's last season with Boston he averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds on .517% shooting at age 22.

With Rondo getting Jordan good looks, I could see him putting up 12 and 10 with a mid .500 shooting %

Jordan is no big al.

Never said he was.

ur trying to compare the two in an attempt to support your claim that Jordan could average a double double.

He had Chris Paul passing him the ball for two seasons.  Paul is the best PG in the NBA.  The difference in terms of passing between Rondo and Paul is minimal.

Rondo passes the ball more than Paul, and even with a perennially aged/unathletic front line he still gets more assists at the rim than Paul.

Who cares what his averages are.

He is an abysmal player in just about every sense.

He's like Ben Wallace without the defense and rebounding but with better dunks to high five your friends with

Comparing young big men on bad teams and projected inferior stats for Jordan as compared to Big Al.  Thus I distinctly implied Jordan was not Big Al.

Can Jordon be a double double guy?  The rebounds obviously aren't a problem unless Sully is an even better version of himself than last year and gobbles up all the rebounds.  But then this could be one of the worst shooting teams ever, so there will be lots of rebounds to be had.  Rebound wise it is definitely possible.

Scoring.  If he shoots 27 free throws a game he will be a double digit scorer.  Let that sink in for a few minutes.  Let it just marinate in the juices of foul shooting ineptitude.  27 attempts, to get 10 points.

Middle school kids could easily do that.  Elementary school kids could probably do it, the ones that could get the ball to the rim anyway.  That tall lanky Dudley guy who used to play for the Knicks laughs at Jordon's free throw shooting.  We could brink in Shaq to give him free throw lessons.  I'm trying to say, this guy's free throw shooting is atrocious.

It isn't magically getting better unless Lucky is on the rim with a fishing net snagging errant shots. It better be a long net too with some of Jordon's misses.  So could he get 27 attempts, hell yes!  Every 13th man in the league should be fouling out against us in two minutes.  If you use all six of your fouls on Jordon you will statistically give up 3 or 4 points.  You have to hit 1 three pointer and a defensive three seconds technical foul to match or better that production in six possessions.

More importantly, any able bodied adult human should be able to hit 50% from the free throw line with any kind of practice.  Which leads me to this conclusion, DeAndre Jordon isn't human?  No, he doesn't take the game seriously.  He has no work ethic.  He has no love for the game.  This is his paycheck for him.  He isn't developing his game in the gym because that is what people who love the game would have done by now.

You can't change who someone is at the core and I don't want anyone who doesn't love the game.  I don't want to root for that guy and I don't want him messing up the chemistry of the team.

Trade Garnett and Doc for picks and salary relief but if we don't already have a deal in place to flip this guy, I'd rather let both of them just walk.

I'll go out on a limb, and say that if the C's get DeAndre, and they go with a semi-rebuild type year, where they forcefeed him minutes, he will average something along the lines of 10/12/3.

Now, I am not saying he will be a good player.  I think a lot of those numbers will be empty, in a Sammy Dalembert sort of way.  But he will put them up.  And that may be enough to build some value to move him at the deadline, or next summer.

I'll predict that he won't because whoever is coaching will lose patience with Jordan and not give him enough minutes to average anywhere close to that.

how so?  Big Al actually had serious offensive post moves.  Jordan doesn't score unless he's dunking or a rebounding putback.  It's not like he's going to get multiple dunks/lobs in a game.  Rondo might catch a team napping on a play to lob to Jordan once a game but the other team will either catch on quickly or just foul Jordan knowing he'll be lucky to make a single FT.

Somebody has to score.  If the deal goes through you are talking about a starting lineup off

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sully
Jordan

When Pierce went down in 06-07 TA averages like 20 ppg for a stretch.  I don't think a jump from 8ppg to 12 ppg is that unlikely given the rest of the team.
that's true, someone HAS to score.  I just don't see Jordan as that option.  Green can score as can Sully.  The thing is, in that lineup, they're the only 2 so the opposing D can just focus on them.  C's will struggle to average 85 points a game with that lineup.

after doing some research, DAJ actually really does have moves, he just doesnt have to use them cuz he'll be wide open for a dunk or he's just so athletic.

He has post moves and with his quickness, I'd have to assume it'd be very hard to guard. Dude has a very decent righty hook, good shimmy and is STRONG

Omer Asik scored 10ppg in Houston last season. He is no more skilled offensively than DeAndre Jordan is. Heck, Jordan is a better finisher than Asik + his superior athleticism creates more opportunities around the basket.

DeAndre Jordan is well capable of scoring 10-12ppg in 30+mpg.

I just disagree with this notion
You put any non-star Center next to Blake Griffin and I just think we end up seeing the same type of things.

It also seems like DAJ has hot starts to his season. He had several games in November that were 15-20+ pt games with double digit rebounds. Just wondering what happened.

He was playing good defense early in the season, and the clippers were rolling.

So he got more minutes and thus more chances to score. His usage was only 15%, no reason he couldn't get up to 10 PPG if he's played more minutes and becomes more of a featured cutter and pick and roll guy.

Oh man that's the saddest thing I've ever read!! Haha

What did dalembert or a similar terrible player end up netting in a trade? Just curious what type of package we could get if we faked a team into think that Jordan is a decent player/prospect/not a bust?

i'm just not sure he's ALL that bad
I'm trying to figure out what happened where he tailed off so quickly

why were his minutes cut if he was giving 20/10 nights? one of which was against the spurs?

and i'm not watching highlight mixes but those shot videos of all his shots. in the one against portland, it wasn't a blow out until the 2nd half...he had a hook shot going and was just active. He also has wonderful rotations and TALKS....

I'm just not sure we're giving him the benefit of the doubt here. if you're a center and you're thrown lobs, I mean you BETTER make em. He's a Center. Why do we want a large jumpshooting center in the first place WHEN you could have a guy like Bass space some way or another.

I'm just saying. Just tryna dig deeper. Don't mind me
