I definitely think so. Not only has he been unbelievable with his 3pt shooting and scoring, but he is also a very good defender. If he has a game anywhere near games 1-5, then it becomes difficult not to give it to him.

Although, Parker or Duncan are the more popular choices and, for historical purposes, it would be better to have one of them win it.

He could very well be if he has another good game to close out the Heat.

However, I think the most valuable player for the Spurs in this series might actually be Kawhi Leonard.

Agreed, everyone looks at what Danny has done in terms of scoring, but Kawhi Leonard's defense on Lebron is insurmountable, and the little things he does like switch, and help defense doesn't get many recognition.

In the Spurs blog a lot of users are on the cusp of saying Parker, while others are leaning towards Green and Leonard.

I'd think it would be a slight toss up between Green and Leonard. But for all historical purposes, Parker will win it unless Green absolutely destroys the Heat at home.

I have him as Finals MVP. He's been great all series long. Breaking Allen's 3 point finals record, defending both Wade and LeBron fairly well. He's come up with huge defensive stops against LeBron, he's just out there doing everything Pop has asked and he's doing it well.

Leonard's been good too but I have Parker right behind Green. Parker has taken over some big moments in this series and dominated a couple of fourth quarters like he did in game 1 and 5. Even tho all three have put their stamps on this series, I have Green leading tha charge for Finals MVP right now.

Danny Green will undoubtedly win it in my opinion if they take this game home.

Whether or not Green breaks out, its just the good defense, breaking Ray's record, and playing the best game of his career in the Finals that really mattered.

Isn't Green a free agent after this? I can bet the Spurs will give him a better role, or even start him.

Green should be in the lead, but Parker and Duncan (and to a slightly lesser extent, Leonard) are close behind.

Danny Green's been a binky of mine since the UNC days, and it's been great watching him play so well, but I have a sneaking suspicion the media members will find a rationale to give it to Duncan or Parker instead.  Sure he got the record, but it's not like Ray got the MVP for setting it.

If Green does win it'll be a testament to how phenomenally well-balanced this Spurs team has been in these Finals, as well as Green's individual excellence.

Either way averaging 5 made 3s per game in the Finals is just sick.  Blocking LeBron once or twice a game and breaking up multiple fastbreaks is just icing.

Gerald's cousin deserves it as of right now. If Timmy Dunks or Parker have great numbers and a clutch end o series, then they'll grab it. Hell, one of them might even get it as of right now. I think it'd be really cool for a non name to win it, though. Take that, basketball history!
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

If you had to look at one guy and say "without this guy the Spurs definitely do not win the finals" it'd have to be Danny Green right now. I guess you could make an argument for Parker too, but I think it's gotta be Green.

So just was thinking how ridiculous (and awesome) it would be for Green to win this.

Was trying to think back to all finals MVP to find someone comprable to him in the semse that he's not an all star/stud etc.

I was born in 85 but thought od cedric maxwell. Went and looked back and he was the first non hall of famer I found on the list. Also interesting that Green would have the lowest point average since Max as well. Unless of course he goes wild tonight.

Pretty cool stuff.
