the trade is more about bledsoe (asset for j smoove trade) and jordan as an asset (whos value would improve with the world's best lobs from rondo...) and thn flipping jordan later for a legitimate center whos disgruntled (maybe DMC)
Please remind me of all these "world's best lobs" from Rondo!! While you're at it remind me of all the times he supposedly is the great "push it up the floor" guy that he gets credit for. Rondo RARELY ever lobs the basketball to anyone. He also usually walks the ball up the floor. For some reason people have this mythical opinion of what Rondo really does on the floor. He is a half court ball pounder that forces us usually into a late shot clock attempt. That's a big reason why above I said I'd package him out of here.
Rondo's been top 3 in the league in assists at the rim 4 years running. The reason people have this "mythical opinion" of Rondo is they pay some attention to what he does in games and compare it to other players. Likewise, he's a great fast break player, the Celts just don't normally play that style of ball.
So I would imagine then that you can send me a link with a highlight reel of his tons of oops throughout his career then! I have league pass and have basically watched every minute of every game of his 7 seasons in the league and I really think I haven't seen more than 10-15 of them ever. Almost 500 games and none of them come to mind. Seems a little odd considering he is the greatest lob man in the world!
I find that incredibly hard to believe, but if you insist, here is a video of Rondo's passing highlights from the 2012-13 season. I count about 13 lob/oop passes in the first two minutes alone, but you can check for yourself if you'd like:

I was bored, so I counted. I counted 15 lob passes (and, I was being very conservative about what I was considering a lob pass) out of the 114 Rondo assists shown in that video. That's about 13%.
Including the playoffs, Rondo has dished out a total of 4,788 assists over the course of his career.
At that rate, my math says he's likely successfully completed about 622 lob passes over the course of his career.
So, EJ, the fact that you've only noticed about ten to fifteen of them says more about how closely you've been paying attention than it does about the reality of what happens on the basketball court.
