This trade has "tank" written all over it. If there was a draft you tank for, this is the one.

Even if this trade were to go through, which I'm not convinced it will, I don't see the Celtics tanking next season.

We're talking about players that have yet to play a single minute in the NBA. You can profess that you know how good or bad a player may or may not be, but you don't know. You can't know. ANY player could be a bust. ANY player could be a gem.

Tanking for unproven players is retarded.
well no, this is about the same talent level as the 2003 draft class. every scout knew lebron was going to be good. the same thing with wiggins and parker. they are certified superstars in the nba

No they aren't. They haven't even played in the NBA yet. They haven't even played in college yet. Nothing is certain except that they were exceptional high school players. That means NOTHING except that they have POTENTIAL.

I will say i would love to get Parker or Wiggins. But don't wanna tank. If we suck we suck but suck at least swinging.

with rondo, bradley, green and sully i think we'll be swinging.

even if we miss out on both parker and wiggins, it'd be nice to have any of the other top 9 or so potential rookies in the next draft

This isn't completely true. Scouts and most people know what each draft has to offer for the most part. Barely anyone could say the 2003 draft would have so many potential hall of farmers, but everyone did know it was the strongest since '96 at the least. Everyone knew 2000 was a terrible draft. Everyone knows this upcoming draft will probably not be that great.

2014 draft is worth taking a risk on especially if Rondo isn't ready by the beginning of the season. It's one of those drafts.

NO. If 07' wasnt enough of a deterrent, the bobcats should be.

Tanking is a sad, pathetic way to try and get good and I would never approve of it.

You can't know, only guess. I don't care what scouts, reporters, fans, or broadcasters say. You can't know.

If OKC would have got the first pick and use it on Oden instead of Durant, what would be OKC today?

Funny, isn't it, how San Antonio never has to tank?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
How hard is it for the coach to tell his players "look, I know you guys are competitive but play like poop out there so we can win next season."

The mentality it's building in that locker room, telling the players "they are not good enough this season" and on purposely losing IS NEVER a good thing.

If we suck, we suck. But we need to suck while working and trying hard to not be, not forcefully.
