Just say no!!!!!
To DeAndre Jordan
I don't see a better alternative that a team would be willing to give up for kg and Pierce.
My point is, I'd rather have the cap space than the player. Jordan is not a player a rebuilding team should be spending $10m on.
Completely agree. KG is as productive if not more than Jordan is and he offers a ton more intangibles to the team than DeAndre is.
Plus he's on the hook for thr same money for more years. I hate trading KG but if we really, really have to, we better more than DeAndre and Bledsoe.
Why do people keep talking like we are stuck with Jordan forever?
It's not like he is one of those horrific contracts that nobody wants to take on. He is overpaid, but he is also 7ft and 24 and could probably put up 10/10 with starter minutes.
If we are rebuilding we don't need immediate cap space. We need flexibility to make moves as they come along and to collect as many assets as possible.
If we want 2014 cap room (which is what we would get with KG retiring) we can just trade Jordan for expiring contracts at the deadline. Otherwise we hold onto him for a year and he becomes an expiring deal making him even more trade-able at the deadline if we are so inclined.
Right, he would be our Center next year and then an expiring contract the next. If this trade happens then we might as well keep him and develop him. Treat Rondo with the Rose treatment and get a pick in a deep draft the next year.
Basically do this trade, be bad next year for a high pick, and then in 2014/2015 have a ton of assets to go after a big name guy.
With Rondo (on expiring), Green, Bradley, Sully, Fab, Jordan (on expiring), the 2014 lotto pick and the rookie we get this year we would the ammunition needed to be able to make some moves and field a very very competitive team.
