You do realize that Doc was the coach in 06-07, right? According to you, he must've done a pretty good job since he was able to lead that team to tank while remaining "uptempo and exciting" to watch.

Yes I do. I think if he could actually develop younger players things would have turned out a lot different with the 2006-2007 squad. Pierce would have been traded for probably some very good draft picks that would have helped them out. They could have tanked and gotten Rose and become what the Chicago Bulls are now. They took the sexy, easy way out. Not that I hate having a championship and all but in all honesty they suffered long term.

SG - T.Allen
SF - Whoever they got for Pierce probably...draft pick...
PF - Big Al
C  - Perk

That wouldn't have been a good starting 5? Obviously it would depend on them hitting on the 3 spot with the lottery pick they would have gotten for Pierce.

But the point isn't the merits between making the KG deal and not making it...its if Doc Rivers is a good coach for a rebuilding team. He isn't...end of story. They need a coach that will tank and help us suck for Wiggins.

I would love to see this team healthy and fight to the end for the sake of PP & KG carriers as Celtics but it appears that it won't be a happy ending.
It looks like Doc does not have the energy or motivation to give it all next season with Boston. Or Doc completely disagree with Danny's plans. Whatever the reason is, Doc should leave.
It is an opportunity for the franchise to build something new. Please no more complicated defense that make all our new players clueless for at least 40 games.

Listen, before Tom Thibs came to Boston, Rivers was a lame duck coach. What changed? The Big Three came together and he ended up getting a good defensive coach. Rivers without the Big Three is no better than Spolestra in Miami. In fact I would probably have "Spo" than Doc for this team and that's me being honest. This team does not need a good head coach, we need someone who can lead this team to tank and tank hard. If they had kept that team together then maybe we would have added a high pick or two and all of those players would be reaching their primes.

Trading Big Al wasn't a good move as we're now stuck with a team that we sold the future for 5 years of being "The Celtics" again. The team now more than ever needs a young exciting, explosive player like Wiggins. Wiggins talent and the talent in the 2014 draft is worth the tank job. As you can get a franchise player in the top 5. You cannot win in the NBA without a top player, period.

Also Rivers could be used to dump some terrible contracts on the Clippers. Such as Bass, Lee, Terry, Crawford and Pierce. That could be used as compensation as a few of those guys could go for Jordan's crap contract but at least he's young, athletic and big.

Not to mention that the drama with Rivers is just getting plain old. He was an average at best coach before Thibs and never made adjustments in games. Get rid of him Danny and do whats right. BLOW IT UP!

It is NOT a ridiculous post!  While I'm happy for the 5 years and would not trade them back, Doc isnt the best fit going forward.  we need youth and athleticim and a coach that is willing to culture that.  We keep Doc and we're looking at being an old team with potential to win a title and constantly adding aging vets while young players rot on the bench.  Eventually we gotta blow it up and if the rumors are swirling then let it become a reality.  Ill miss KG and PP, and Doc but I wont miss those guys suckin wind at the end of every 3rd quarter while doc draws up PP iso after iso and plays small ball against top centers all through the playoffs.  It's been a wonderful run but the time is now.

I'd say the odds of getting Wiggins are miniscule; not even worth thinking about as a fan.  DEFINITELY not something to plan around if you are a GM.
