I think Doc ends up staying. Doc seems like a sincere guy and after talking about being a Celtic for life last year I don't think he would just jump ship.
To me, this is just Doc using the leverage of his situation to make sure Danny doesn't go into full rebuild mode.
I think even if the Celtics do go in full rebuild mode, they will be doing it with players that Doc loves and will want to stay with. Rondo, Bradley and Sullinger all seem like Doc's guys. Maybe I'm foolish, but I think when push comes to shove he comes back regardless of the direction of the team.
If this is true, Danny needs to man up.
At the end of the day, this is HIS club.
Let Doc go, hire someone else -- Hollins, Karl, Shaw, SVG -- Don't deal Rondo, trade PP for a big, let KG decide and move on.
This is ridiculous. It really is. For a coach that had an OK season and some players who barely showed up in the playoffs.
