First, let me start by saying,I don't see a purpose of writing this article at this time. It's not like the C's are in Finals and the fans are talking major noise. He does admit that he's a Lakers fan so there you have it  >:(  >:(  >:(

I'm not sure who discovered time travel first, Boston Celtics fans or Notre Dame football fans. Both fan bases dwell on the past and are oblivious to events that transpired over a 20-25 year period. My money is on the Celtics.

Quote
Since I've been alive, the Lakers have won 3 of the 5 Finals matchups against the Celtics, and I don't get worked up about things that happened 50 years ago when my parents were 5 years old. But Celtics fans do, even those who can't remember all the "glory years."
Quote
The Lakers' exit from the 2011 playoffs courtesy a sweep from Dallas was not the proudest moment for the Lakers, but I always shake my head when Celtics and other fans claim the Lakers quit in that series. Would Celtics fans say their team quit that season when Perkins was traded (see their record before and after the Perkins trade)? More to the point, their championship run from 2008-2010 was set up by Paul Pierce, one of the toughest players of his generation, choosing to "rest" nearly half of the 2006-2007 season, thus improving next season's draft position, which eventually landed a trade for Ray Allen. Contrary to the popular saying, apparently quitters can be winners.

Quote
In other words, anyone not yet a grandfather knows the Lakers as the most dominant NBA franchise of their lifetime, followed by the Bulls, with the success of the Spurs and Pistons more fresh in their mind than that of the Celtics.

These are just tidbits of the rant...smh

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm upset that he even got a page view from me, and I encourage everyone out there to not click on the link.

The guy is trolling for page hits, and he's the equivalent of a bleacher report article.

Its 100% editorial, written like a dumbed down bizzaro bill simmons, who is also a bit of a jerk.

Don't click on it, guy's a troll.

EDIT: Just to add, the Yahoo Contributor Network is a lot like the Bleacher Report contributor network; sometimes you get competent writers, but mostly you get...this. Trolling for page views with no content of substance.

No big deal, just some guy with a Celtics complex. Maybe he'll write a manifesto next week on Kobe > Jordan.

It makes me want to write something.  Who wants to beat me to writing a "controversial" article accusing Dwyane Wade of being the dirtiest player in the game?

Celtics shouldn't even be on his mind right now because they're at home just like the Lakers.

Barring a lengthy coma, why would the Piston's success be more fresh in anyone's mind? That's just crazy talk.

A lot of the "writers / contributors" on Yahoo put out really weak efforts.  I see better writing and well thought out articles in our fan posts on a daily basis.

The timing is weird but I wouldn't get too worked up about it.  It's a commentary from a self-admitted Lakers fan.  It's got bias written all over it.  Its not presented as hard-hitting journalism.  Just some garbage that you could find on hundreds on basketball or free lance sites.  It just happens to have the Yahoo name next to it.

I didn't even read all of that garbage, but you're right I've seen better writing in just the discussions/debates we have on the forum.

I didn't realize people read this junk. YCN is like Bleacher Report in the worst possible way.

It was one of the leading stories on my Yahoo home page. I don't care about him writing it. I just find the timing very weird, like the C's and Lakers aren't even a focus right now.

A Lakers fan suffering from NBA withdrawal months after his team got booted from the playoffs. Unsurprising to me, really.

WoW! What great bias reporting...This shouldn't be on a news site, but a blog site. He's just p---ed because Bostons fan base is better and don't need to bring in celebrates to draw attention.

The argument about where teams were in champions ships is a little valid, but not in your case. City state should stay in the cities. The fact they moved to LA to a big market and could attract players made it easier to compete then other teams including Boston. I'll be happy to take away 1 win against LA,(but is still counts as a Celtics championship) if you're willing to take away the 5 that was won in Minneapolis. Seems fair...

Oh and Peirce didn't "rest" in 06'-07' to get better lottery position. He had the same injury that did in McHale and almost Jordan. If he was part of a tank strategy, why did he come back for the last hand full of games? Wouldn't it be better if he just sat out the rest of the season and not risk re-injury?

Well, the guy is not a reporter and this is not reporting.
