List a few guys not supposedly on the Celtics' radar at 16 for whatever reason...who it wouldn't surprise you to see Danny pick.  Or it would surprise you for a brief second and then you'd be like, oh yeah, that's a Danny-type pick....

In order of least surprising surprise picks:

1.  Tony Mitchell
2.  Karasev
3.  Nogueira
4.  Snell

Tony Mitchell is a guy with specialist potential, so if you don't like anyone else, take a specialist.

Karasev is a great shooter apparently, savvy on offense and a good passer.  You take him hoping he can eventually guard small forwards and bigger, slower 2 guards.

Nogueira is high risk high reward so no explanation needed.

Snell, if we are running it back, might actually see the court next year for some bench shooting.  Mitchell could also get a few minutes next year as a rebounder, but not sure about that....

Shabazz, if he falls to us.

Rudy Gobert, for size and defensive potential alone.

Jamaal Franklin or Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Ricky Ledo would be a shock but also could be a home run if he could get his head on strait.

Would never happen but Livio Jean Charles or Mom Jaiteh (sp?) would be a surprise.

Finally there's Isiah Austin who seems to have fallen off of the map but IMO is still one of the best prospects in this draft.

If we don't get Muhammad as a slider, I like Ledo too. His handle, especially his crossovers are incredible.

Trade down for him though to get an extra pick like Muscala in the second.

Would actually like if we could get Plumlee here. I think it would be surprise just because a lot of mocks/fans don't see us picking him. I think he could be a great running mate with Rondo and Green. Similar to what Wilcox is (has better moves on the block this wilcox though) But hey we'll see soon enough. I have been getting really bored lately.

I agree about Plumlee.  I think he is one of the more underrated players in the draft, just because of his age.  If he is there at 16, the C's would have to look hard at him.  Its not often you have a guy who with legit size, was very productive in the ACC, is an elite level athlete, and has decent ball skills available at that point.

All true.

And with Dukies you can also be confident in their work ethic, intelligence, and discipline, if nothing else.

Isaiah Austin "fell off the map" because he's not in the draft anymore.  He's returning to school.

Very much agree with you guys.  He's overlooked due to his age, along with being low risk and possibly low ceiling, which gets back to the age thing.  He could be a "surprise" pick for the Celtics.

Ah, well that would explain the drop off. 2014 is going to be amazing.

Coming totally out of left field would be DA drafting Archie Goodwin. Think about it highly rated in high school, good size for SG, good athlete, and he underperformed in college.

But at #16 thats not happening and shouldn't happen

My other picks for surprises would be

Ricky Ledo
Karasev
Erick Green

I think his current likely list is 1.Schroeder 2.Larkin 3.Adams 4.Dieng 5.Plumlee in that order
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Yeah Goodwin's a good surprise choice for the reasons you mention.  Agree he seems to have dropped too far down to reach for.

And you, Soul Jax and now Chad Ford are onto Ledo as a surprise Danny pick...
