“Yeah, it does,” he said. “When we sat down and we talked about it, we being my family and the people that supported me over my life, we talked about being selfish and giving ourselves the best opportunity to win. We wanted to win, we didn’t want to be in a situation where we were going to struggle. Sitting here in this situation, it’s a great relief. Because sometimes you take a gamble. Your family believes in you, and we’re here and I can say that we’re in the situation we put ourselves in and we’re happy with it. We know that we can see the end of the road.”

At least he admits he was selfish.  However, Duncan getting his 5th ring along with Allen not getting another one is quite a bit of incentive for a Celtic fan to cheer on San Antonio.  ;D
We all think we know more than we really do....

What an enormous difference there is between he and KG.

We were very competitive last year and there wasn't any real reason to believe we wouldn't be competitive this year. There is a reason why he hasn't lasted any longer than six years with a team. I realize that before he went to the Heat, he was traded twice, but I am sure his grumblings with the Cs weren't the only ones he's ever uttered.

I personally felt like he made the right move he wanted to start but the C's wanted Bradley to start he felt disrespected as he (and myself)thought that he was just as valuable as KG and Pierce.

Well that shoots down the "Ray Allen wanting to be in Boston" talk...wonder how he would have felt if they'd lost last night.

Judas never understood why Danny tried to trade him as well as pierce the last few years. He thought he had the right to go as he wishes without letting the team knows. That shows how low is his IQ.
Considering that fact, thinking of chasing another ring and be nearer his mother makes sense. Selfish with no consideration for his team mates regarding what he achieved with them and not thinking of the troubles that might create to them and their careers ending.
There should be a law for this kind of crime. Franchise history and millions are at stakes.
A man with no principles like that makes me forget how good he was as a 3 pts shooter.
It takes away lot of good things from him. The day he will realise that, he will be old and miserable. Another ring is not the point here, that won't makes him happier.

if he gets a second ring, it honestly means very little in terms of his legacy as far as I'm concerned...possibly even hurts it...he's an inconsistent bench scrub riding lebrons coattails...pretty sad considering what he once was

Eh.

He was a solid 6th man who if they didnt have...

Wade would probably be really done by now playing those extra minutes.

Not to mention he's instrumental in changing LeBron's free throw shooting motion. *sigh*

If he has a big series and the Heat win a championship...he truly made the right decision.

He went from being a good player to a ringchaser.

Ray Allen is the Gollum of the basketball world.

Allen was never a world-beater in the playoffs, but he showed why he was no longer worthy of starting after last year's atrocious effort [seriously, 30% 3pt and under 40% fg?]. He took half the money to go to our biggest EC rival and didn't leave in the classiest manner.

He would have been 6th man on the Cs, and if Green was coming off the bench, he would have clearly been 7th.

No way was Ray as valuable as PP or KG (or, since 2010 or so, Rondo).

Part of the reason why there was so much vitriol about Ray leaving was that he was going to a better team.

That's not to discount other factors like the Heat being our rivals, having just taken them to 7, Ray taking less money, etc etc.  But most honest fans knew he was making a smart move if he wanted to win, which was part of what was so maddening about it.
