Ray Allen had every right to leave.
Don't buy the argument he spews by saying "we wanted to win." No not we, its more like me. Just be honest, and admit the decision wasn't based on your family or championship. Allen bolted to Miami to spite the organization, and well as his teammmates.
Despite KG/Rondo/Pierce have been in trade talks for every season. NBA stars aren't unique, so why were you surprised? You don't see Pierce/KG/Rondo being distracting or letting it effect their ego.
KG, Rondo and Pierce have been discussed in trade talks the past 2 seasons and never distracted or effected their ego. So he didn't want to play behind an unproven Avery Bradley? Guess what hes doing the same role for Wade... So Allen must feel a lot more comfortable in backing up Wade than Bradley, who's a fellow Celtic, who Allen has said is a very hard working individual. But when it comes time, he's not good enough for you to back up? Manu is the sixth man, and used to start. Same for Reggie Miller, but where do you hear the complaints from either of them? It happens to everyone, and its going to happen to Pierce this upcoming season if he stays.
Allen tarnished his reputation, and despite the plan was to three peat. My firm belief is if he had stayed a year longer, then his jersey would've been in the rafters alongside the entire Big 3.
Ray, Garnett, and Pierce became something special that rejuvenated and restored the pride in our franchise. They started the trend of 3 superstars coming together.
So I don't buy the argument that he's validated for leaving. So who did Ray try to validate exactly? Miami? With or without him, Miami would've still gone this far. He just wanted to validate his stern ego, which he has yet to relieve of despite his weakness, and old age.
