Let's say the Celtics get a 2nd round pick, who would you choose for 1st/2nd?

It isn't hard to believe a lot of teams are looking to cash in for their 2nd pick.

With this draft I see a lot of players who can contribute decent minutes, and aren't superstars, but good role players.

I don't think we should try to package these picks. We need young and upcoming talent that can grow and develop under the tutelage of Kevin Garnett/Pierce.

I seriously doubt Ainge is making any crazy moves, unless he sees a deal he can't pass up.

With the first round pick I'd love to choose Adams or Dieng. I would prefer Dieng, because a) He is a monster on defense versus pick and roll. b) I love how people bring up his age 23 like its a detriment to his learning abilities. People forget he came to America from his homeland, learned our language in 3 years, and can speak fluently to a point where I can sense his intelligence through his interviews. c) He has plenty of room to grow, and I've seen the way he defends. Strong hustling, and knows how to time blocks.

I don't mind getting Adams cause he has a lot of upside, but if we're going to draft him, I'm going to assume Fab is going to be traded. I don't see why we don't keep two projects at this point. If one pans out, then we can get rid of the other. Or if they both don't pan out, we can already package them in a deal.

With the 2nd pick, I'm hoping to pick up Siva. I really love his ability to create space for his teammates, and he has really good handles. Albeit, I don't think he'll be anything more than a back up point guard but if we do draft Dieng. It'll be really fun to see the chemistry between the two Cardinals.

What do you guys think or who we're going to draft 2nd pick, and who would you love for us to draft if we do decide to pick up the 2nd one?

Obviously I hope we get a second, because obviously more picks is better.  That said, there seem to be plenty of players who could be drafts as high as 20 and as low as 40, so I think I'd just like one of those fallers, like Draymond Green last year.  (Also, this depends on when the second-rounder is - early, middle, or late).

That said, someone I could see falling out of the first round is DeShaun Thomas.  I think he'd be a steal in the second round, and someone I'd hope Danny gave Chandler Parsons-like contract to, and actually kept around for a couple of years for once.  He could be a good backup at the 3 for Green once Paul retires.  Otherwise I'd want whichever Euro falls out of the first round for a draft-and-stash.

I think we need a shooter.  I'd like to see us get a 2 or 5.  Take best player on the board at those two positions.

I would not be adverse to Ledo either. Allen Crabbe is intriguing too to me.   I think a long range marksman who can spread the floor has been missed here.  KG is honestly better than most 5's we face.

Based on the workouts I think DAs plan is to get a big and a point out of this draft while still taking BPA.

If someone unexpected falls to the Cs (ex Muhamadd) then DA takes him without a doubt in my mind. If the draft player out the way Draftexpress currently has it then I predict.

not ideal I think DA wants Schroeder, Larkin, Adams, then Plumlee at this pick. If Dieng works out for the Cs then I put him fifth on the list.

in the 2nd round I see the Cs buying their pick back from Portland #45.

He fits the same profile as RR and AB. Long quick PG who under achieved on college. My long shock at this pick would be Seth Curry, he is injured and not working out but has one elite NBA skill, shooting.


If the #16 pick ends up being Schroeder or Larkin. Then I predict the #45 to be Colton Iverson or Trevor Mbakwe with the long shot of drafting Jaiteh and stashing him over seas for 2-3 years.


Though I don't think its in the Cs plans I also would love them to take a flyer on a 2nd round stretch 4/5. Kelly, Murphy, Jerret, and Kadji (in that order) are all second round picks who can shoot from the outside and have great size. Kadji is the only one without at least a 9' standing reach but he is the best athlete out of the group. Stretch bigs are so valuable in todays NBA its is well worth the gamble to draft one or hope for one as post draft free

Since Schroeder will probably be gone, I'm leaning towards Tony Mitchell with the first pick.  Other than that I'd pin my first round hopes on Euros I know little about.

In the case we have a second round pick I've sold myself on Livio Jean Charles.

I agree with this. Of course, here we sit with no 2nd rounders after trading 3 of them - including the second most valuable (the Bobcats' which is 32) - for Courtney Lee.

My highest ranked second rounder would probably go to Brandon Davies. Solid Measurements at the combine...

He seems like a potential Paul Millsap type. Non existent character issues brought his stock down when in fact his comeback story shows a strong resiliency.

6'10 makes Davies taller than most that play the banger position. Would Danny Ainge draft BYU?
