I know very little chance of this happening. And CP3 didn't want to come here the first time, but maybe, just a slight maybe he could change his mind?

Now, I've had about 3 hours of sleep so Im not going to try to package a deal right now, because in my current frame of mind I'd have Rondo and a case of Twinkies for CP3, I have a feeling its going to take a little more than that.

Clips might do some thing that has them taking a little less because they may not get anything if CP3 bolts.

DA may be able to get him on the cheap, Rondo,Lee,Melo,Crawford might get close enough. Im figuring CP3 will be around 20 mill. I have a feeling either PP or Green would have to be involved. I'd rather not trade Green because its a better future with CP3 and Green then CP3 and PP.

I don't know, I hate to give up Rondo, but CP3 is one of the few guys I'd consider it, and hey, its speculation season, to its just for giggles until some thing legit pops up. And with ATlanta,Huston and Dallas all making moves for CP3 And Howard its an out there trade idea.

Any one else have ideas about how to pull this off?

For the record, I don't think trading Rondo for Chris Paul is enough of an upgrade to justify paying Paul what will almost certainly be the most massive contract available.

The other problem is that sign and trade deals are a dying breed under the new CBA, so this is actually a really tricky trade proposal.

Assuming CP3 signs for Carmelo money, Rondo + Jeff Green would get it done, I believe.

First, we don't know how much, if any, truth there is to the "Chris Paul doesn't want to come to Boston" stuff.

Much as I love Rondo, Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, and Al-Fariq Aminu, plus an Unprotected first round pick from Minnesota is light years better than anything Danny could have put on the table for him.

People jump to these conclusions that Paul wouldn't have signed long term in Boston, but it never got to that point cause DA flat out could not compete with the deals either LA team put on the table.

Chris Paul isn't going to leave the Clippers to come to Boston for a lot less money.  He may very well leave the Clippers but it won't be to come to Boston.

I don't think Danny could put together a package that would entice LAC enough to trade Paul that wouldn't gut our team so much that Paul would have any interest in coming here.

But I think a better question than what can the Celtics offer would be what would other teams be able to offer?

Assuming you use Rondo as a starting point, by that I mean another team has to give them back at least as much as Rondo, what packages would teams realistically be able to put together to get Paul and would Paul actually be interested in going to said teams.

The Celtics could offer Rondo a couple future first and then our best junk (Crawford, Melo, Lee etc.), but more realistically it would be Rondo and Green. I'm sure other teams can top that, but I'd be curious as to what offers they might get.

I hope DA does not put a package around Rondo to take CP3 and his soon to be massuve contract and his inability to win.

Besides, he doesnt want to be here. At least Rondo is getting paid around 6 million less and putting up pretty much the same numbers.

Folks. Rondo has a high risk injury. Trading him for a healthy PG is better that gambling the Rondos future...

Exactly.  We don't want CP and he wouldn't want to come here.  I still believe 100% he ends up in LA with the Clippers

Would be sweet for the clippers (if they are worried that paul may leave) would probably be the same exact team with the same totally sweet alley opps that clips nation craves

The Rumor is that CP3 is unhappy with the Clips.

The Idea is that Danny could snag him in a trade.

I don't see it, myself.
