Watched last night Miami win.
Seems obvious to me they will beat Indy then probably spurs. Back to back championships for them
Next year they win again barring major injury
Then Lebron has a chance to do what I don't think has been done since maybe bill Russell - go for four championships in a row.
This is what I can see driving him over the next 2 years. It's well within his grasp and no one else in the last 30 years has done it. Not Kobe not Larry or magic. Not even Jordan although he probably would have if he hadn't retired.
But I can see that as being LeBrons thing now, the stat to separate him from the other recent greats.  4 championships in a row.
It kind of sucks but who's going to stop him??

Anyway that just popped into my head so I thought I'd put it out there.  :)

IMHO lebron will be overconfident and miss next one if he manage to win this one

His ego will fight against him
and Wade and Bosh wont be able to back him like this last 2 years.....

not to mention battier and allen are close to done and okc is just getting better if healthier

Once a CrotorNat always a CROTORNAT  2 times CB draft Champion 2009-2012

Nice to be back!

Thanks for that depressing thought.  >:(

Nope not happening this will be his last year(if he even wins one this year) winning. Thunder are just getting better and better and i can even see the Mavs being contenders next year if they get Dwight and Paul.

Let's let him win his second before assuming he is going for 4 in a row.

And as this seems a good place to bring it up, I was talking with my bro and wondered out loud, if Lebron goes to the Finals and loses to either SA or Memphis, how much does that hurt his legacy and chances to become the best ever?

If he loses in the Finals this year that would be 4 Finals and 1 win.

That doesn't sound very MJ-like or Russell-like!

A lot can happen to change your hypothesis, let alone in 2 years.

If the Lebron James led Heat win any less than 8 titles, they will be a failure.

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

I'm not so sure.  Young Lebron plus 4 shooters and good defense got to the finals.

It's pretty reasonable to postulate that a mature, in-prime Lebron plus a similar decent team should contend, and with Bosh at least, plus the physically declining Wade and an MLE and some coattail-riders, and health should make a 4-peat a possibility.

But let's let him try to win his second before crowning him with four.

But there doesn't seem to be an effective foil for Lebron as yet.  Durant is out west and they haven't played many series' yet, and he hasn't really met Carmelo in a series either.  Pierce served the role for a year or two, but they're going in opposite directions.

Look for some Knick/Heat Thursday night games next year.

yeah, I hope i'm wrong but we had his # for awhile, but i don't see anyone else seriously challenging him. Paul played him the toughest / and beat him several times. But if the Celts are done, i have little confidence in anyone else beating him.
Durant seems to have taken a step back this year - w no Westbrook they were gone fast. Carmelo is a joke. DH is a joke. chris paul is good but not in Le Bron's class. This has got to be the Spurs last hurrah. Kobe could compete w LeBron but the Lakers look like a mess right now.
I guess Wiggins is supposed to be the next great one but that will take a couple years.
I guess the thunder if healthy could make them sweat but at this point if it's miami okc next year miami will have huge experience advantage.
Wade is declining definitely but they got Riley and you know he'll find a way to keep talent around LeBron. its not exactly a tough sell.
anyway, yeah depressing thought sorry. :)

I don't think Miami will win this year.
Objectively, Lebron is doing too much, Wade is burned out. Bosh won't do much against Splitter.
They can't win with Lebron alone like Kobe couldn't the past years without a good gasol and fisher.
Look closely at San Antonio and how they are much better this time. Everybody is productive and Parker is unstoppable. The threat is everywhere, it's too tough for miami with a limited wade. If Wade was 100%, I would have shut my mouth.
Next year, well lot of things can happen and other teams are super hungry. OKC, Golden State and whichever team where Chris Paul go. Unless Miami gets a very good big, I don't see it happening.
It's very tough to win it 2 years in the row with the CBA rules. I don't even consider a 3 year consecutive win. Impossible to happen. Period.

Ok now it's time to stop being objective and put on my green glasses. Celtics win banner 18 next year!  ;D

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Bulls with Rose are a better team IMO. Wait till they get rid of Boozer and have Butler and Deng to throw at Lebron while he tries to guard Rose.

They've been very lucky with injuries not only to them, but the other teams like us, the bulls, granger on the pacers etc...

Bulls look good to dethrone them if they are healthy.
Wait till Memphis does some offseason shopping for shooters too.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Steve Kerr had 4 rings in a row 96-99.

Not a big deal. LeBron should go for 5. Only then he will beat Kerr.

I'm pretty sure they won't get pass Spurs this year...
as for the next 2-3 years, you never know who's gonna pull a Pierce-Garnett-Allen or Lebron-Wade-Bosh type of a deal and swing the momentum on their team, it seams to become a new fashion in the nba
