Trade Pierce + Jet to Brooklyn for Humphries, Reggie Evans, and Marshon Brooks

Then the classic KG + Bass + Lee + Future 1st for Bledsoe, Jordan, and Butler deal...not sure why it didn't go down before. Can someone inform me on the details here? Was it simply KG not exercising his option?

People hate on Humphries for his whole celebrity thing. But the two seasons before this past season, he was actually productive averaging a double-double. This guy is solid and 28. He was overpaid true, but the only reason for that was in the hopes of swinging him for a star. On top of that we get Reggie Evans who I've wanted for forever because he simply grabs rebounds and Brooks.

Pierce can really help out the Nets. I doubt they waive him. As much as I'd hate him play in the same division:
D-Will/JJ/Pierce/Gerald wallace/Lopez with JET off the bench is a very good lineup to throw out for the team and puts them in a great position to contend

Celtics 2013-2014
Rondo/Bradley
Brooks/Bledsoe/Crawford
Green/Butler
Humphries/Evans/Sully
Jordan/Melo

More importantly
Humphires and Butler free up 20 million as they are expiring. Plus it gives us 20 million in expiring contracts to potentially trade [another 1.2 Million in Crawford]

Also opens the doors for us to trade some combination of: Brooks, Bradley, Bledsoe, Sullinger, Fab Melo, Jordan

I honestly think with Rondo running the show with that team, things can work out very well.

The Red Sox this season are showing me that you don't necessarily need your stars, people will step up

You never trade the Pierce contract for that pile of garbage. Pierce is instant salary relief!!!!!
A team can literally acquire him and wipe 10 million off their payroll. That's huge for these owners. Not having to pay ten million dollars? Again that's huge! And incredibly value in the right scenario.

The Kg trade is more then fine.

That team barely makes the playoffs. I'd take Jordan and Bledsloe for KG and or Pierce but if we can't get them I want picks in the top 15 and potential under the age of 24 with cheap, tradeable deals. One crummy deal like Butler is okay but any more bar getting a potential star back is not worth the wasted time.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Yeah the trade to BK is awful. Puts two guys ahead of Sully in which would never want them to take time away from him. The KG is reasonable.

Well the way he put the rotation was Hump/Evans/Sully. In which i agree with you. Sully wouldn't def. come out ahead but was kinda nit picking his rotation. SORRY lol i am just still angry that the Heat just pulled that game out.

i feel you man i just spewed hatred on my facebook page since i can't curse here. tough tough loss. to be back on original topic i dont think we should trade pierce. i dont see any good picks/young players coming back. the captain has earned not to be a salary dump. if he wants out thats a different story but if not let him ride off with his pal KG

I think Brooklyn trading for Pierce is redundant as they already have G. Wallace

How about this?
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pxlcld4

The Celts get to unload the awful, awful Bass, Terry and Lee deals.

Sure we get back two albatross contracts in JJ and Wallace but I think those guys help make you a better team than having Bass, Terry and Lee.

You start Rondo/Bradley at PG, JJ at SG, J.Green at SF with Wallace your 6th man, KG at PF, and use the MLE for a center (Dalembert, Hickson, Splitter, etc.)
Sully/Humph are your primary bigs off the bench.

Brooklyn's incentive to do it is they get out of the long-term deals of Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace. Plus they're looking to dump Hump and can replace him with Bass.

I like Humphries because he can rebound (forgot what rebounding was like in Boston).
