Like you said when referring to Monroe, he is more naturally a center. However, when Drummond fell to them and showed all that promise last year at 19 years old, it forced them to try and push Monroe to PF. They lack any promising players on the perimeter as Stucky nor Knight are the answer.

Also as mentioned, the #1 pick carries loads of value regardless of the perceived strength of the talent pool.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Think Jeff Green could get us the first?

No.

But if they keep the pick, it can improve the Celtics chances of trading Green for sideshow.

Not even close. Any talk of us getting the 1st has to start with Rondo.

Or a really big, multi-team package sending KG and or Pierce to a team needing that last push, sending young ready to take the next step players to the Cavs.

I asked the Cavs SBN Nation guy on twitter his response,

I think alot can be learned by asking other teams fans what they think of our trade proposals on here haha.

That said, I don't think a deal based around Green for AV is outlandish.

I would immediately accept that deal if I was Cleveland.

If I were Cleveland I would look to trade Varejao and #1 for Aldridge and #10.

I'm not sure I would from Clevelands end. Two potential prospects for one player, then you're counting on AV to stay upright and on the court....

Green for AV has Antoine for Raef written all over it. Unless we are definitely going for a championship run next year, this would be a horrible deal for us...and even then, I am not sure we wouldn't be better holding onto Green.

As for the proposed Monroe deal, I just don't see either team going for it. It's a case of both teams thinking they have more than what they really do, when actually it's a pretty even trade. Cleveland is 'closer' than Detroit so getting even younger doesn't really hurt Detroit and they can get another great pick next year.

Of course they are willing to if the package is good.

I expect them to take the pick.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
The Cavs might pick up the phone if you offered Green, Bradley and the 16th pick.
They could draft a decent defensive big at 16 and get a 20 ppg SF that can guard all their eastern conference rivals small forwards, makes them an immediate player in the East.Bradley can do the same off the bench.

Irving
Waiters
Green
Thompson
Verajao
Bradley
16th pick

You could take back a young guy or a few of their youngins to include a veteran bench scorer like Terry too :D

Who would we draft with the first? Noel or Mackelmore? Or even Len?
Id honestly rather go after Cousins. Hes better than any of the bigs in this draft and hes still only 22.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
