If Shabazz or Carter-Williams or Nerlens Noel ( ;D yeah, I know he won't) slip to #16, you pick them. If not, I'd rather pick Saric and buy a second rounder to get Kenny Kadji than a project big who will have to walk the Melo route. Kadji is a big PF (6'11) who is athletic enough to play some P&R defense and he's also a fairly good shooter to help on offense. He's also 25, so he should be mature enough to help next season.

Adams is intriguing, though, but his 44% FT shooting scares me. Olynyk is skilled, he could also help, but his short arms could hurt him in the NBA. Dieng and Withey are good defenders, as Rudy Gobert, but they aren't as talented as Saric, Muhammad or MCW. At #16 you should go for the eventual Rondo/Big Al even if you end up with Banks/Gerald Green.

Buy another late second rounder if Ricky Ledo is still there and try to develop him as a 6th man type scorer. I don't buy the late first promise story and he might be a late second round home run.

I would rather have Plumlee than either of these guys.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Mason-Plumlee-5231/

17pts and 10rbs to go with 36 inch vert. Good athletic and hustler. Better than Melo and Wilcox already plus he can play the 4 or 5.

Were his measurements more impressive than Fab?

I'm guessing they were since he was said to have been a standout among this year's bigs and apparently this year's crop of bigs are great.

I don't know too much about his game, but he seem pretty smart, down to earth, and honest.  I really liked him based on the interview, at least.

I hope they take Gorgui Dieng in the first round and pick up Rodney Williams in the second round on the cheap...

Celtics don't have a 2nd rounder this year.

I'm hoping they find a way to acquire a second rounder or two, because that'd be a nice cheap way to fill out the roster heading into a rebuilding year.  But I wouldn't be surprised if they stand pat with the 1 first round pick considering how weak this draft is.

I see more profit in us trading Crawford or packaged with the China bench to remove cap space in the future by waiving them for a 2nd rounder.

I know they don't have a 2nd rounder - that why I said on the cheap(from somebody else)

With Williams in trouble with the law, Rodney Williams from Minnesota is a phenomenal athlete (the best in the whole draft)....he also has a desire to play defense...could run the floor which is what the Celtics seem to want to transition to

I wouldn't mind Adams.  I can't say I was too impressed with him during the year.  I'd be surprise if he ever becomes an all-star because his offense may never be good enough but after seeing the Celtics trudge out an undersized unit unable to rebound or defend the basket for several seasons now, I wouldn't mind getting a strong, 7 foot big who has the potential to do that down the line.  Those types of bigs are so valuable and very rarely acquirable through trade or free agency that getting one with the 16th pick is not a bad idea.

I doubt he lasts until the 16th pick.

Steven Adams could be a draft target for the Celtics with the 16th overall pick. "He’s young,"

Danny Ainge said. "You’re talking about a kid who didn’t play a lot of games in the Big East. Watching him, you know he can play. So who knows?" The Celtics desperately need size and Adams is a name that has been rising up draft boards since the combine

I don't think they impact our cap space in any way, shape or form.

From what I've read / seen of Steven Adams, he strikes me as a potential Omer Asik type.  Mostly a non-factor on offense except for open dunks and put-backs, but perhaps an immediate impact on the boards and protecting the paint, especially for our team.

I'd be just fine using a #16 on a guy who could be a 7 foot defensive center, even if he doesn't bring much on the other end.

I don't really see the Fab comparison.  Yeah, they're both project bigs, but Fab hardly even knew how to play basketball and played college at Syracuse, a school notorious for setting prospects up for failure in the NBA (they don't translate well).  Fab was also a weak rebounder.  I don't think Fab could move as well to step out on shooters and hedge on pick and rolls, not to mention he's not as athletic.  I feel like Fab's offensive upside is probably better though.

That guy has been my favorite for awhile now.  I think Steven Adams is a pick with a lot of potential.

Steve adams Actually dominated nelens noel when they played each other in high school and he is very athletic Adams could be that pick turns out to be a great pick and i would love for the celtics to get there hands on Ledo he could be better than Mclemore he was ranked better coming out of high school.
