Could Beasley get back to his former level of play in the right situation...?

Maybe, but how are you going to make the cannibas plant extinct?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Get Ledo in the early second(buy a pick if possible) if you didn't already pick up KCP at 16.

If anyone wants to watch full game video from Ledo's senior season in high school, you can here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RkYMcblV7Y&list=PL3512697C948B8E27

His passing is outstanding.  Before I had seen him play, I'd read about how he was selfish, took bad shots, yada yada yada.  He sounded like a typical flashy high school kid without self-awareness for his game.  He couldn't be further from what I expected. I know it's just high school but high school kids got picked for many years to great success.  This guy is an extremely talented offensive player.

I'm not saying he's a perfect player but just look at the players who might go in the lottery this season.  They're all flawed.  McLemore needs to improve his handle and take on a more dominant on-court personality.  Shabazz needs to round out his game and improve his skill level.  Otto Porter is very well rounded and has very good size but is a so-so athlete.  MCW is a point guard with decisionmaking issues.  And on and on.  Who knows how Ledo would have done in his freshman season but talentwise, I'd take him over any of the perimeter players available.

That deal doesnt net us Gortat. I think Bradley and the 16th for Gortat is a starting point. And I personally do it if Pierce and KG stay around.

Hell no , I am not trading an elite defender and a decent 1st round pick for a Gortat . He only has 1 year left on his contract which will need to be resigned after next season .

We can have bradley and # 16 under our control for 2 year , and 5 years for cheap money

He's got a nice shooting touch, and passing is pretty good too.

If we could trade Lee and Crawford for Gortat, I'd do it in a millisecond

But we can't. Phoenix won't allow us to do so.

I would switch up the idea a bit.

I would propose to Phoenix AB and Fab and the 16th for Gortat and 2nd. AB's age has tremendous value and Fab, while a project, is a big man they can develop, along with the 16th.

We keep Lee. He's no All-NBA Defense but he's good enough to keep our defensive identity. We draft the BPA in the second round (57th overall I think).

Rondo
Lee / T-Will
Pierce / Green
KG / Sully
Gortat / Bass

If that team stays healthy, that can contend.

Please god no...

I want Lee gone.  I barely even care what we get back for him.  He played about one week of solid basketball the entire season and outside of that was utterly useless.

If I can ditch that contract and get just about anything in return I'd do it.

With Rondo returning we will have Rondo, Bradley, Terry, Williams, Crawford, Lee all on the roster. That's 6 guards, and we can only realistically find time for 4 of them.

Crawford is the riskiest in that list but we do need scoring and he's only being paid a tad over $2m. Williams is solid and steady with (IMO) a lot of upside and also is being paid peanuts.

Terry and Bradley are both key contributers - Terry was consistently our 4th best scorer last season and is a steady ball handler who rarely turns it over, while Bradley is a young athletic spark plug and an all-defense guy who is costing us next to nothing.

Rondo is a superstar and important to our success as we go beyond the big 3 era.

The one just who is left out is Lee.  He's been the least or second least productive guy in that list, yet he's the second highest paid after Rondo. His defense is overrated - decent sometimes, medoicre at others.  His offense has been, for the most part, useless.  He doesn't seem to have respect of the team because even Crawford and Williams got playing time over him in critical playoff minutes.

Lee just needs to, plain and simple. Not a fit for this team.
