Here's the article:

Here's Celticslife's take on the article:
http://www.celticslife.com/2013/05/stephen-smith-cant-accept-that-he-was.html

Quote from Steven A Smith
Quote
Danny Ainge’s words, in this matter, mean nothing to me. Absolutely nothing.

He also implies that once Doc leaves, no free agent would want to go to Boston.

I remember in a "showdown" between Skip Bayless and Mark Cuban, Cuban basically called them (sports reporters) out on the lack of substance and accuracy in their reporting. Steven A Smith responded with:
Quote
I'm wrong 'cause they [GMs and other management personnel] gave it to me wrong

SAS is a clown. Keeps trying to stir something up. If something like Doc doesn't come back then i will give him credit. But nothing he says seems to come true. He just gets loud and fits with skip all the time and thats why he has a job.

That is great. If he's right, Danny's words are meaningless, but if he's wrong, it's because his sources' words are meaningless.

In both events he deliberately ignores the more likely possibility, which is that his own words are meaningless.

Dannys words mean absolutely nothing to Steven A Smith just as Steven A Smith's words on this subject mean absolutely nothing to me.

Well, in all fairness to Steven A., we've yet to actually hear Doc himself say whether he's coming back.

Correct me if I am wrong, but so far all we've heard is Danny Ainge say he "believes Doc is coming back next year."

I believe I am winning powerball tonight, doesn't mean it's happening.

However, the part with Steven A that I laugh at is when he says "if Doc leaves, no free agent will want to come to Boston."

Right....because we've had to fight off so many NBA star players from wanting to come to Boston, these last few years.

I guess this would now mean that Chris Wilcox, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee might want to play somewhere else.
Oh boy ???

At this point his irrelevance is self-fulfilling.

I mean, put yourself in the position of someone who has valuable inside info and wants to leak it.

Can you imagine saying to yourself "I'm going to leak this incredibly valuable piece of information, and choose as my outlet the one guy whose claims are completely disregarded by every serious person on the planet."

Not...bloody...likely.

This is the first time I'm hoping whatever Screaming Stephen A. Smith is saying is true.  Really, Doc couldn't have coached a worse series against the Knicks.  I don't think the Pacers ran the pick and switch play once.  Meanwhile the Celtics ran it about 10 times a game even though they didn't get much from it and it stagnated the heck out of the offense.  Then there was the switching on defense that allowed the Knicks to dictate matchups.  The Knicks were able to iso Felton against a Celtics big multiple times every game whereas I can't remember him getting one opportunity against the Pacers.

Talk about a nothing news article. Stephen A Smith basically says, 'he might leave, especially if a cant say no job opens, but he might not, and Boston doesn't attract a lot of free agents'

In other news, I might have another beer, or I might not especially if someone offers to make me a white russian, but without me the house doesn't attract a lot of beers cuz my wife likes wine.

To be fair, Shaq and Sheed were valued free agent signings. The players might have been a larger part of signing them though. Now the team is in decline.

Stephen A just secretly wishes Doc would leave Boston to coach the Knicks.  He behaves like a jealous school girl, always spreading rumors.

I'm surprised people take this clown's opinion seriously. If I'm ever unfortunate enough to watch that show with him and Skip Bayless, I spend the entire duration trying to decide who the bigger buffoon is... and change my mind about 30 times before it's over.

Forget Harry and Lloyd, those 2 are the real dumb and dumber!

Skip does kinda look like an old Jeff Daniels.
