Olynyk is not a soft as other people think he is. His post moves are polished and is NBA ready. He's not a high jumper but he has better footwork offensively than most Centers coming in. He's an offensive big who you can drop the ball and make work in the post. He also has a 9'0" standing reach, so he's not as short as you think.

I have seen him play, he is really soft.   Most players have arms longer than their bodies, his armspan is like 6'9" which means his arms are shorter than his body.  Not good in pro sports but at least his knuckles don't drag the ground.

He is 7' and 238 lbs yet only averaged 7.3 RPG.  That is weak for a guy at his size.   But that means we might draft him.

I think he has some skills.   I just think he will struggle when everyone he faces is bigger and more athletic.   Skills only take you so far if you can't get off your shot and get pushed around.

You claim Olynyk showed up against Wichita State.  I say he did not.   I know he scored 26 points but do you realize that he was 8-22 from the floor that game.  He was 0-3 from three point land and had 4 TOs.   He got his numbers but played poorly.

Wichita State was a good team but that performance was soft and inefficient.

Zeller is ranked higher in the draft and here is a video.

I have seen both of these guys outside the NCAAs.

I would much rather have an athletic big who can run the floor.

You claim Zeller is unskilled but he Zeller has good low post moves.  Have you seen him outside the Syracuse game I have to wonder.

This clearly shows your wrong about his skill level.  I concede Olynyk is skilled but if picking between two skilled guys I would pick the athletic one.

Olynyk has the skills to score in the NBA level that Zeller though.

Zeller could not even play decent against Syracuse. Gonzaga may have lost early, but Olynyk sure as heck did show up. I'd have him over Zeller.

A poor man's Brook Lopez, Olynyk is.

Thank God your not our GM.

I would be glad to bet you he will not.  Everyone will be more athletic than him, he will get ate alive.   Lopez is a much better athlete.

Most mocks have Zeller in top five.  Olynyk is just outside the top ten in most drafts.   Please post one with Kelly in the top five.

Olynyk is only going to drop with the short arms and miserable fail on his physical athletic tests.   We already had Ostertag.

Look at that vertical.

Did not say I was going to draft him. But I would take him over Zeller. I'm drafting Steven Adams for us.

Speaking of get ate alive, Zeller's strength is actually his biggest red flag. For a Center he's being pushed around by Big 10 forwards in the block. Zeller is in the top 5 because of that measurements, and his tenacity, but he'll have a hard time againts NBA competetion strength wise.

Olynyk is not a soft as other people think he is. His post moves are polished and is NBA ready. He's not a high jumper but he has better footwork offensively than most Centers coming in. He's an offensive big who you can drop the ball and make work in the post. He also has a 9'0" standing reach, so he's not as short as you think.

zeller is not a centre in the nba. Olynyk is not a center either, but due to his avg mobility and lack of athleticism, it might be his only way to stick in the nba. He will need to pack some serious strength to accomplish this.

Zeller has above avg quickness and of course top tier athleticism. He has the lateral quickness to guard quick pf's in the nba. Also can run and finish in transition.  He could play Center pt but due to his lack of excellent strength he will be overwhelmed. HIs brother Tyler is a perfect example. In college he is a center but in the nba he is adj to the pf game, taking for mid range jump shots, running the floor and not as occupied underneath the basket.

Olynyk may not be the greatest leaper, but his ability to run the court is one of his greatest strengths.
