for the last time...on green
do we really expect him to score consistently as pierce can do game per game

example 26 points a game consistently?
are we ready on green running our offense for the whole season?

what if green had a minor injury...who is your second option on scoring?
(pierce is gone)

come playoffs with big 3 of miami heat and new york knicks
without pp and kg, what we expect from green, he will take us to 2nd round playoffs?

is 18points a game from green enough to win us game per game the whole season?

I  don`t know about 26 points a game, but I do expect him to be higher up the pecking order as far as attacking options. More plays called for him, more clutch 4th quarter minutes and so on.

No, expecting Jeff to score 26 ppg. is expecting too much.

My expectations for him is 15-18 ppg while shooting efficiently (around 47% or better, around 38% or better from 3), and play great defense against opposing SF's, shooting, be a bit more aggressive on the boards and be consistent. And while everything should still run with Rondo and the pick and rolls, I also expect Jeff to be the go-to scorer if there are broken plays and no time on the shot clock and/or Rajon cant get to his spots on the floor for his shots.

Expecting him to be essentially top 5 (26 per game) in scoring asking too much IMO. Jeff Green is not a Superstar, nor I think he will, but he's a very good player who can drop buckets when needed, but certainly not carry the entire load of the scoring. If he can, then great, but let's not put a very high expectation on Green.

The rest of the points we need will then come from what Rondo makes from his shots and from the shots his teammates will get after setting them up. If Rondo is averaging 35 ppg combined with his made shots and assited baskets, then 18 ppg from Green is enough for us. The rest has to come somewhere else, whether is from Terry or someone else.

what if he got minor injury day-to-day who is your 2nd best scorer now?

Jason Terry. He had a disappointing season for us but his role on our team is to score, he has to be able to. Also, Rondo has to take few more shots and be the second option.

All I'm saying is this, Green can be the GO TO scorer, but he doesnt need to average 26 for us to be contender. Sure we can have plays set up for him. He can be the guy who gets the ball if we need a bucket. But he can't be carrying us offensively, Rajon has to. And by that I mean he sets up teammates for shots, while getting some for his own.

I dont expect Green to ever be a 26pt a game guy. I would say his ceiling would be 20pts and my hope for him his that he builds on this past season with consistency. Eliminate those 5-6pt games and be a double figure decent percentage guy every night.

As fare as running the offense, If Rondo is projected to miss the first half of the season (and KG and PP are not back) I would really hope DA gets a young fill in point guard. Either buy into the early second round and draft one or give a player like Jonny Flynn another chance running the point. If KG and PP are back then get a vet FA like Beno Udrih to run the point.

If he is the number one option without Pierce and KG?

I would expect around 18 points a game with a lower shooting %.

I think that role is just a bad fit for Green.

Not going to happen. Regardless of whether the team thinks this should be his "role" or not.

So Green leads the offense and the team averages 26-30 points per night on offense, that sounds realistic

Some Green is going to make the jump into Lebron / Kobe / Carmelo / Durant territory?

Maybe in NBA2k.

Zing! ;D

Ladies and gents, dudes and chicks, readers and posters, I'd kind of forgotten how badly it sucks being in the off season with so much playoff basketball left to go.

In 2K I was able to turn Gerald Green into lebron/kobe/melo.

He just needs to play 56 minutes per game, no problem!
