Avery Bradley should not have been named to the First Team ahead of Tony Allen or CP3.

Lol@cp3

Don't tell me you actually think he's a better defender then Avery.

I'm open minded: convince me. Post some metrics.

Are the teams not position-based? Isn't it a question of who is the better defender: Allen or Bradley?

I don't think anyone is debating Allen at all. Some would probably say that AB deserves to be 1st team, but there's no way he was making the team over CP3 (because of popularity).

Well, if voting does depend on position, CP3 is the top votegetter for PG, while Bradley has to beat out Allen for consideration at SG.

Well AB is a PG (not really)/SG so he didn't necessarily have to compete with Allen especially considering he played most of this season as a PG.

How does the DPOY go on the second team? The media and coaches need to meet in the middle because that doesn't make sense to me.

eta:Also KG not getting 1 vote is sad especially seeing how much this team suffered defensively when he left the court. He didn't have to make the team, but he deserves a vote.

Pretty good if you ask me for someone who:

(a) missed a substantial part of the season,

(b) is on a .500 team (all others were on top seeds), and

(c) doesn't get the spillover benefit of being a very good offensive player, which for some reason I don't understand seems to matter.

Plus it gives him motivation for next year.

Congrats to the kid, he works as hard as anyone on the team not named KG.

The thing I don't understand is.. How does a DPOY go on the 2nd defensive team, and not the first?

Different voting bodies. Defensive team is named by coaches, not media.

Ah, I see... Even then KG should've gotten at least 5 votes... Without KG our defense was terrible, and lacked effort.

I would have voted him ahead of cp3 but im fine with Tony getting the first team. Avery's time will come as a first teamer and possibly dpoy.

Im very glad he got recognized this year cause he most certainly deserves it.

I mean do you really need numbers? How bout just watch them both play. Its pretty clear who is the better defender.

Im ok with Tony over Avery just because of respect and the fact that hes earned his stripes, but number wise and to my eye, Avery is even better than Tony Allen.

CP3 over Bradley? Are you kidding me? Bradley should've been First Team.

And not a single vote for KG? Did any sports writer in America (other than Boston's) pay any attention to Boston's +/- splits with KG on and off the court? Did they watch ANY Celtics games this season?

The problem with arguments like this is you are doing nothing to show that you are more correct than Lucky. Maybe it is obvious to you who is the better defender (I agree btw) but your bias from basketball you have played or viewed might skew your opinion in a way different from his. For this reason, backing you argument up with numbers as a way to quantify your opinions work best.

The "How bout you just watch them both play"/"Do you even watch the games" arguments are the laziest/most arrogant statement you can make. Clearly people disagreed with you by watching the same game, so explain your point of view instead of just assuming you are correct, because chances are if you can't back up your argument with numbers or video you are not correct.

I didn't mean to attack your post I just have seen too many blanket statements without facts to back them up on the message board lately.
