All of what u say may be true, but you are missing a key point. Nobody on this list will likely be acquired by the C's.

Additionally, josh smith is attainable but the C's might not be able to afford him. His terrible playoff performance was no worst than pierces this year.

Al Jefferson is also attainable and a very realistic option because the jazz would probably take pierce in a trade

Also Al Jefferson is a free agent this summer, so we may not even have to use Pierce to get him in a sign and trade. I think he gets a bad rap from being in one bad situation (for him) after another. And I think that the Celtics would be a perfect fit for him.

I also think that Big Al's game (in the low post and rebounding) would fill a need for the Celtics that Josh Smith does not. He may be an excellent defender, but the team needs another consistent scorer who is willing to buy into what the Celtics is about, and that is TEAM first. And Josh Smith is anything but a team first guy.

Red Auerbach once said that he would rather have a guy who can score than a guy who just plays great defense but is not a great scorer, because you can teach defense if the guy buys in, you can't teach a natural ability to score. Big Al is a scorer. Josh Smith is a shooter who gets streaky.

Big Al is better scorer and rebounder . Would love to see what prime Rondo and prime Big Al could do , with Rondo's passing ability , and big al's post moves !

Jeff Green does a lot of what Josh Smith can do .

Plus I want to see what Sully can develop into

WHile I'm always on the "get smith in green" crowd, I never took into account Greens abilities (assuming he is not involved in the trade) when considering Smith. Now that I look at it Big Al would be a better option. I'd take the hit on defense over the ill advised shots all game.

Not only is that possibly realistic, if we were going to move on from Pierce and KG, it's a solid plan.

While the league may be going smaller with jump shooting, spacing and drive and kick ball. I also think with the right talent you can impose your will on teams - Indiana is big and I believe they will have a legit shot to get to the finals this year.

I like the low post scoring of Big Al - Draft or sign a real defensive minded PF behind him - Georgi Dieng wouldn't be bad.

I also like your idea of trading Bledsoe for a shooter. I actually wanted us to trade Ray Allen to the Clips a few years back for Bledsoe and one of their off guards, can't remember who ti was at the time.

But I also like the idea of trading him for a shooter - help spread the floor for Jefferson's low post game.
