2. Nate Robinson is still a scrub.

That kind of thinking is why Tim Tebow can't get a job in the NFL.  It's one thing to have a negative view of a player.  It's another thing for that view to be completely impervious to production on the court and wins and losses.

Is Nate Robinson a flawed player?  Yes, and so are most of the guys in the NBA.  Hell, even some of the best players of all-time were flawed in one way or another.  Can Nate Robinson lose you games?  Sure, just like plenty of other guys who've suited up in the league.  Can Nate Robinson almost single-handedly win you games in the toughest and most challenging situations?  Yes and there aren't a lot of players who can.  Might Nate's level of play fall off a cliff once his athleticism starts to decline?  Yup, but that's true of most guards.

Nate Robinson may be many things, but a scrub is not one of them.

Nate's a perfectly fine backup PG/SG who's having a hot streak of games. But lets not let 8 games eliminate 4+ years of playing time that have shown that he's only a backup level PG/SG.

Or that he's getting so much playing time almost solely because of injury. Nate's had issues with confidence and not fitting what coaches want from him in the past. A situation where he can just go ball because there isn't anyone behind him at all is pretty much perfect for him.

Tim Tebow on the other hand hasn't shown the ability to even be a backup QB. He's a running QB who makes his team's rushing attack a few YPA better and provides his team with no passing game. That's not good enough in the NFL.

Nate Robinson is a useful backup player whose skill-set is probably not a good fit for the Celtics.  I think the Celtics would be better off getting a reserve guard who is a three-and-D catch-and-shoot guy or a pass-first point guard who is a good perimeter defender.  I think that an all-offense, no-defense instant offense guy is a bad fit for the Celtics.  That may sound strange, given the Celtics' offensive woes, but I believe it to be true.

I dunno, coach his Celtics team deeper into the playoffs than any Thibodeau-led squad has gone?

The Celtics played excellent defense against the Knicks. It was their anemic offense that lost them the series.

Every year Doc's teams are very good defensively. His teams share the ball and play extremely hard. That is all you can ask from any coach.

Has it been his fault that since Kendrick Perkins was traded we haven't bothered to bring in a pure rebounder to pair with KG? Is it his fault that almost every year at least one of his rotation players went down with an injury?

Exercise for those who are anti-Doc, which coaches currently in the NBA would you rather have than him? Here's my list.

You think our talent last year was substantially better than the (MVP) Derrick Rose-led 2011 Bulls squad, that had a record of 62-20 and the best record in the East?

Getting a team without a single healthy sg and a sf with a sprained knee ligament to the conference finals isn't as unimpressive as it sounds. What's Thibs done that's more impressive than that?

sure, overplaying your stars all year...now that is impressive.....but then...THAT is the #1 topic....overplaying them...benching the help.getting rid of the supporting players.....to overplay the stars....what happened EVERY January for the last 4 years...PP and KG...hurt....overplaying.....obvious to players who played this game on any level.
