Saw it in the steven a rumor nonsense

is it true that you can trade a coach though?

If doc planned on leaving anyways and we were rebuilding , could we get a 1st rd pick for him?

I've personally never heard of an NBA coach being traded. In baseball, I know that's how the Sox got John Farrell, so MAYBE it's possible. But in the NBA, I've never heard of it happening before.

I guess if you could, as might as well swap Doc for Vinny Del Negro. I know he's not the best coach, but we could do worse.

I don't think a team can "trade" a coach.

However, I believe they can receive compensation if they allow their under-contract coach to sign with another team.  Miami received a couple of draft picks when they allowed Stan Van Gundy to coach in Orlando, I believe.
