Take Rondo off playoff Celtics (well Rondo and Ray Allen), still the playoffs Celtics. Rondo is still a top 5 PG. Imagine how our team would have looked in the playoffs without Jeff Green this year. The team you'd have left over, which would have set more records for offensive ineptness than they did in the series, is probably better than the group that Rondo took to within a game of the finals last year.Of course the Celtics would be better with Rondo. And would have probably been even better with Paul because he could have both run the offense as well as Rondo and been the 1st option. If he could run the offense as well as Rondo and be the 1st option all of his fans would be touting his playoff victories instead of explaining why they've never come to pass.He has never had the rest of the offense around him.Why else would he had wanted KG so much at the deadline? He wanted better teammates. Again, take the leading scorer off of the Celts team who's offense was deplorably bad when playing a mediocre defense you'd still have better offense than what Rondo had to work with last year. When KG averages 19.2 points a game? And the Celtics had 5 guys averaging double digits?Where Paul had Griffin and Mo Williams? And this year, Griffin couldn't even stay on the court so he had Matt Barnes.

If you're like quite a few of the posters here you'll never believe you've seen a team led by Rondo until the team fails in the playoffs. All throughout the team's poor start to the 11-12 season there were tons of posts claiming we needed to move on from Rondo because he was the leader of the team and the team sucked. Lo and behold, the team does a 180 and almost gets to the finals. What do we see this year when the team gets off to a poor start? Plenty of posts, including many from the 11-12 posters, claiming that this is the first time it's been Rondo's team and we need to dump him because the team sucks. If he'd come back healthy for the playoffs we'd get plenty of posts next year claiming that the 13-14 season was the first one where he's led...Yet most of the posters you are arguing with are not saying "dump Rondo"They are just saying that there is another PG that is better.

Have CP3 agree to a sign and trade for Rondo and whatever chip is needed to make the salaries work and see if Ainge doesn't do that before he blinks. THEN you'll see who is the better PG.

If you poll the nation, not just Celtics fans (obviously biased towards own player), to choose between Paul and Rondo, I can guarantee you more chooses Paul, and rightfully so.

They don't play the same position. That's like saying Felton just outplayed KG in our recent series. Apples and Oranges.
