I agree with the OP.
I am tired of being disappointed every year in the playoffs since 2008.
I am also tired of regular season games being taken off and the switch being flipped on and off.
I am ready for a new direction and ready for a new team.
For those who think a team of Pierce, KG, Rondo, Sully, Bradley and Jeff Green are going to contend next year, you will be sorely disappointed!
Haha I hope you're ready to not contend for a good 5 to 7 years then. Take a good look at the cavaliers. That's what we'll be when we "rebuild".
Stop living a pipe dream. This was destined to end someday. Why torture ourselves prolonging the inevitable? KG and Pierce were NOT the players they used to be this year. KG was obviously good, but he just can't keep doing it anymore. Just wait for the official release on his injuries within the next few weeks. Guy was banged up from age-related injuries. Pierce's lift is gone. He was injured too, from apparently nothing.
The faster we begin the rebuild, the sooner we get back to contention, it's as simple as that.
What's the best-case scenario in your opinion? Both stay, minor adjustments are made to the team, and we lose to NYK again next year? Then inevitably rebuild after that?
Sounds terrible. I'd rather free up the books, be in the position to sign a max deal (or two a year from now), and maybe even get a lottery shot one year while the guys figure it out. It's only uphill from there
