I am tired of being disappointed every year in the playoffs since 2008.

I don't know about that. I agree you have to fall in the cellar before you soar in the NBA again. But if the Celtics play their cards right and stop running an old KG/Pierce into the ground, I think they can return to the promise land sooner than you think.

And re the Cavs, I don't know about you but I sure wish we had a player as talented as Kyrie Irving and we don't.

So then we'll be even worse off. And how many "rebuilding" teams have turned into contenders in under 5 years? We're much more likely to end up like the Kings than OKC.

KG was obviously good, but he just can't keep doing it anymore. Just wait for the official release on his injuries within the next few weeks. Guy was banged up from age-related injuries. Pierce's lift is gone. He was injured too, from apparently nothing.

The faster we begin the rebuild, the sooner we get back to contention, it's as simple as that.

What's the best-case scenario in your opinion? Both stay, minor adjustments are made to the team, and we lose to NYK again next year? Then inevitably rebuild after that?

Sounds terrible. I'd rather free up the books, be in the position to sign a max deal (or two a year from now), and maybe even get a lottery shot one year while the guys figure it out. It's only uphill from there

So, they might as well start now when there seems to be a great draft class in 2014.

Well, i dont consider either Rondo or Green as legitimate core building blocks for the future. I think both should pretty tradeable considering they are entering their prime and could get you some value back (Rondo more than Green).
