Absolutely.

Not a chance.

(KG yes, but a fond farewell to Pierce.)

yes.

I don't see how we can possibly do any better.

There are no more LBJ 's to be had......

it's gonna be very hard for any Organization to field a club with currant NBA rules , cap limits, that can trump LBJ and wade.

everybody else is in the same boat as the Celtics to one degree or another,  figuring out how to field a team that can beat the Heat.

LBJ is equal to 2 superstars .......near impossible task

I think you'll end up appreciating Pierce more once he's gone.

Yea if we actually had a coach that said look you're gonna be sixth men now and not play them 40 minutes a game.  The problem with this team again is the coach.  Clear as day yesterday.  Ride pierce into the ground.  Picked apart in the board all series while 4 bigs sat on the bench.   Are u kidding me?  Playing only 7 players and you expect them to maintain energy?  Doc has to go!

Absolutely. I will watch Pierce and KG play and compete as long as they want. Will we ever win another championship with them? Not likely but I'd rather at least be competing for one. People act like its so easy to rebuild, do you remember how long the Celtics sucked?
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Only if Pierce is okay with not being the go to guy.  He needs to get from star to role player and let Rondo and Green run the show.
do it

  • You say when......
YES..but in different roles..THAT is why you'd need another coach....doc would START them...play them to death by EVERY JANUARY....they need to be TRAINERS for younger guys....set the standard....asst coaches types....specialists......NOT 30 or above minutes.....PP needs to change his game.....no more ISO's.his dribbling sucks, and that play is so tired and known....it is the EASIEST STEAL in history now......and kg IS NOT a center anymore..how many times does he have to tell doc this.....he DOESN'T like to play center = duh.

Good points.

What I am not willing to do is allow Danny another summer of "adding parts" for another run.

I'm good with Pierce and Garnett coming back for another season - if Danny and Wyc are ready to get serious about the rebuild and make a move with Rondo to get the two of them legitimate help. If that move takes Bradley, Sullinger, et al. to make, then make it.

As for the people who are champing at the bit to blow it up, having lived on the Internet through the last mess Danny made - before he got lucky with McHale and Presti and got two superstars for two bags of garbage - you should realize that there are fans who get more pleasure out of being bad - and out of dreaming that the bad players will someday become good - than they do contending.

You should have seen the anger around here the night of the Garnett trade. Danny overpaid with too much young talent. Mind-blowing.

how exactly did danny make a mess out f the team last time ?

because he traded Antoine walker?

He was collecting assets for a few years so he could make a big trade , and accomplished his goal. Of course we were extremely lucky to land KG and Ray .

We need assets

I'm with you on not adding anymore long term salary though.

If you're keeping KG, might as well keep Pierce unless you're trading him for an impact player at another position.

Put keeping KG while moving Pierce could be impossible.

Calling those players assets - a time-honored Celtics Blog standard - always makes me laugh.

Ainge traded two things of value for Garnett and Allen - the 5th draft pick and Big Al No D.

Beyond that, zip.
