With all the talks of "blowing it up", do Pierce and KG's opinions matter?

You don't know what they're thinking right now so suppose they wanted it...would you let them?

Well, I don't think KG comes back next year, so the way to go is tank mode. The Captain, on the other hand... with Rondo and Sully back from injury, the smartest thing would be trading him, but come on, he's a Celtic for life, and he deserves to retire in Green.

Danny Ainge and the Celtics have absolutely no choice in the matter.  If KG wants to come back, he will.  KG's contract is fully guaranteed for next season, and has a no-trade clause.

Ainge can try to force him out by waiving or trading Pierce, and this in all likelihood would, but KG could always say "screw it" and come back anyways.  Boy would that be awkward.

no choice but to. but man, this team needs some serious help. it sucks to be a playoff contender but have one of the smallest chances at a championship.

If both want to come back, definitely. There will be time enough for a rebuild when both retire.

If given a 5% chance at a championship, or 5% at a top 3 pick, I'll take the former. I'd rather the team fail at winning than fail at losing.

Yes, they deserve it, especially KG. I know you're not supposed to take personal decisions in sports but act for the best, yet in this case, for all they both have given to the franchise, you owe it to them to respect their choice.

There's not much more either can achieve during their illustrious careers. I would hope both retire and end their careers as celebrated and decorated Celtics. There's no room for sentiment moving forward given the moves the C's will need to make in the coming seasons to push for another banner.

If they both want to come back, then they both think they can make a run at it together again. And I will trust their judgement.
