After the combine V3.0

1. Magic - Burke
2. Bobcat - Mclemore
3. Cavs - Noel
4. Suns - Porter
5. Pelicans - Oliadipo
6. Kings -  Mccollum
7. Pistons - Schroeder
8. Wizards - Bennett
9. Wolves - Zeller
10. Blazers -  Muhammad
11. 76rs - Len
12. Okc - Adetokoubo
13. Mavs - Saric
14. Jazz - Plumlee
15. Bucks - Carter Williams

16. Celtics - Glen Rice Jr.  - Celtics were one of the first teams to have interviewed Rice Jr.  It started on Wednesday apparently , which was when the combine didn't even start, and players were coming into the hotel.   The search to add another SF to supplement the loss of Pierce sounds like is already beginning. Rice jr. already has gone through crap by being kicked out of college, then going to Rio, fighting off Houston Rockets young guns for playing time, to pretty much being the mvp of the d league playoffs.  From an article he says something along the lines "I just shuts up  and play now" "has learnt from his mistakes" and I believe him. His screw up might be a blessing in disguise bc he has lotto talent. An excellent scorer that has a inside/outside game. Has a deadly shot but also can dunk over you. Rebounds and blocks shots at a high rate for his size.  Within the lotto the only other teams that have talked to Rice so far is the 76rs and Bucks.  But 76rs have a big need upfront with Bynum in limbo and Bucks need a pg with Jennings likely to not be extended.

17. Hawks -  Gobert
18. Hawks - Carter-Williams
19. Cavs - Olynyk
20. Bulls - Caldwell Pope
21. Jazz - Larkin
22. Brooklyn -  Dieng
23. Pacers -  Mitchell
24. Knicks - Adams
25. Clippers - CJ Leslie
26. Wolves - Brown
27. Nuggets -  Ennis
28. Spurs -  Snell
29. OKC - Green

Unless it's Shabazz and his All Star potential, the last thing we need is another rotation type 2 guard.

Let's go big to help the reload or let's swing the fences by moving up. If Danny drafts Glen Rice Jr (dont hate him, i just dont see the purpose of it), unless he moves AB and/or Lee and/or to get something, then I'm on board with Glen Rice Jr. I see the potential and the shooting capabilities, but if we are going to draft him just to log jam our guards, well, you know what I would do.

Rice Jr. is a SF/SG. He is 6'6, has a 6'10 wingspan and 40 inch max vertical.  Also is 210 pounds. The way he likes to bang the boards for rebounds and block shots is more of how a sf plays in the nba.

So Rice Jr. is not another addition to the sg spot

Fair enough. I just think it's two things...

If PP and KG are staying, then we need a big. If Danny can get one in FA great if not we need to draft one here where there are bigs that are not All Stars but rotation to 25 mpg quality. If we are going for a wing guy however, then we should swing to the fences and get the guy who is sliding down but has tremendous All Star potential.

Edit.

I looked at his numbers in the D-League, was impressed.

I retract my previous statement. I see now why you're high on him.

I like him playing for us. The D-League is a very different platform compare to college and he sort of dominated that league (according to the numbers). Heck, I'd go as far to say that I'd trade some of our wings (AB included) to get another first round pick to get him and a big.

Honestly we need the BPA regardless of what happens. Nothing is set in stone that AB is going to remain a starter for next year, or how healthy Rondo will comeback.

I have a feeling there is a reason the Celtics have interviewed Rice even before the combine. There is high interest in him coming on board.

The celtics have a need for another big man, but also need someone who can score. Even with PP/Green/AB etc. we were super dry in the scoring department for more than half of the series vs the knicks. Nobody that could nail a few threes in a row, or create their own shots and get the knicks defense scrambling.  Also Rice Jr. dunks and ability to rebound, block shots will be fantastic for the team.

Just like buying refurbished, where its like new anyways, I can see Danny taking a risk on a talent like Rice Jr.

yeah , his stats are dominating. Especially the playoffs, where he was avg 20 plus points, almost 10 rebounds, 2 blocks/steals at an efficient rate. And just like his Dad, he can really shoot the ball. He also gets free advice from his dad who was an elite player back in the day. (its like the celtics get a free coach)

Honestly if he gets picked sooner, i wouldn't be surprised at all.

One flaw is his defensive effort (looking at his draft video) but I think with proper coaching that's fixable. If I say that to Shabazz, I can say it to Rice Jr.

I'm not concerned with his inability to create for himself (it was dubbed as his weakness) since we have Rondo. I'm sold.

His defense improved progressively as the playoffs went forward.

He also has good handles but could tighten things up.

He also can create his own shots, and there is potential for a mid range game. Right now he is mostly either shooting threes, driving in or scoring in transition. But like his dad eventually can adopt faking the three shot, drive in , stop and pull up for a jump shot.

There is literally no reason not to trade down if they want Burke.

if Pierce is leaving, then Rice sounds like a good pick.  From what I was reading on line, he maybe a lot better than where he is projected to be picked.

If Pierce and KG stay,  it seems the Dieng fellow from Kentucky would be a nice fit for a big.???

I like the idea of trading some of our players for another pick, or buying another pick,  as the Celtics
need a center to go with Rice ,should they select him

I suspect, DA is moving Pierce.  too quiet

both KG/PP IF they stay , will be their last years. So it makes so no sense to draft Dieng for position need, if Rice Jr. is clearly the better player.

He can score and rebound, two area that we were hurting for last year.  It's almost a perfect pick imo

Rumors are , there are some teams picking 5-12 also feel he is quality prospect. But will trade down to get him. So if we give them AB + 16th

To bos: Victor Oliadipo or Len
To trade partner: AB + Glen Rice Jr. (16th pick)

Ainge i'm sure will certainly try to pry a 2nd round pick in the process and pick either another sf/sg like a Michael Snaer or big man like Kenny Kadji.

This draft is going to wild. At least after the first 4 picks

Maybe he's just blowing smoke up theirs.

I haven't heard anything about Ainge interviewing him.

if Pierce is leaving, then Rice sounds like a good pick.

Where'd you get that? I'd be stoked for Len.

You you think ainge made giannis adetokunbo stock higher since he showed that he liked him alot  and raved about him? And other teams looked into it?  Why tip other teams that your in love with this player.

Ainge has never tipped his hand prior, this was a smokescreen.

I think AB is movable but I think every one on the team is movable.

After the initial workouts V4.0

1. Cavs - Mclemore- Too much potential + skills here today. Waiters comes from the bench

2. Magic - Burke - Need a pg badly. Will reach

3. Wizards - Oliadipo - sg/sf that will help out this team

4. Bobcat - Porter - All around best sf. Meets positional need also
5. Suns - Noel
6. Pelicans - Mccollum
7. Kings - Schroeder - Biggest climb of draft.
8. Pistons - Bennett - Replace loss of Prince at sf
9. Wolves - Zeller - In case of loss of Pekovic
10. Blazers -  Muhammad - bpa. Can play sg/sf
11. 76rs - Len - Bynum looks like he is done
12. Okc - Adams - Perk replacement
13. Mavs - Saric - Stash away for later
14. Jazz - Larkin - Jazz, Bucks enormed
15. Bucks - Carter Williams

16. Celtics - Glen Rice Jr.  - Still the same imo. There is interest in Larkin also it seems. Rice Jr. gives the celts a nice boost off the bench and immediately or in the near future supplement the loss of PP at the Sf spot. Kid can score , rebound, block shots, shoot threes. Lots of things the celts are in desperate need from last year.

17. Hawks -  Plumlee
18. Hawks -  Caldwell Pope
19. Cavs - Nogueira
20. Bulls - Olynyk
21. Jazz - Gobert
22. Brooklyn -  Dieng
23. Pacers -  Franklin
24. Knicks - Withey
25. Clippers - CJ Leslie
26. Wolves - Brown
27. Nuggets -  Ennis
28. Spurs - Bullock

29. OKC - Adetokoubo - Has fallen. Also signed a new contract with Spanish league. Not ready until one or two years later.

30. Suns - Snell

** if Glen Rice Jr. is picked by the bucks (interest also), not sure what Danny will do. Either trade the pick for multiple later picks or draft Plumlee i guess. I don't think he has interest on Dieng (role player) or Withey (worries about foot speed). If danny can trade the pick for later picks, I see him taking a risk on Giannis, or perhaps another underrated sf like Bullock, Ennis and a pg like Siva, Jackson.

Celtics draft Morris Almond 2.0?  Whooopie.
