Williams over AB last night definitely made a difference.  I think if AB continues this crappy play Friday, he gets an early, and possibly very long, hook for the playoffs

Terrence over Bradley last night made a difference or some of the differences of the game.

I will be more for using Terry as PG. Terry is better shoter than Williams and has more expereince during playoffs.

Terrence Williams looks like the closest thing we have to something resembling a point guard when he's on the floor. Not a knock on Avery, guys just either "are" or "are not" point guards.

I think game 5 is a real good opportunity to play Terrence a little more, let him attack on the break and let him get us into our sets.

I know it's an elimination game but I'd still throw him into the spotlight and the pressure to see how he does and I'd probably do it early in the game.

Let him match up with J.R defensively and run the point offensively.

Perhaps pair him with JT so you've got some outside shooting.

I think we could benefit from using him a bit more tonight.

Thoughts?

Tommy point.

I wouldn't put Williams on JR, I'd stick him on Felton.  He was the only guy who showed any semblance of slowing Felton down.

Not only did TWill defend Felton, attack the press, and look like our only competent point guard, he got some HUGE rebounds in the second half of game 5.  Having an extra rebounder is something we definitely need.

Honestly, I've been begging for this all series long.

Jeff Green, Paul Pierce and Avery Bradley all struggle to hold on to the ball under constant defensive.  They can handle pressure fine in spurts, but when it's constantly on they start to lose composure and turn the ball over.

With Rondo our and Barbosa gone, the only other key guy we have who can handle the ball under pressure is Terry.  He's actually done a really good job (only 0.8 TOPG this series and 3:1 Ass/TO) but we need Terry's scoring...so we really need someone who can relieve him and handle the point under pressure.

I've been pushing to get Williams more time in this series because of a number of things:

1. His size and athleticism - his size can give a real advantage against NY's smaller backcourt, while he's still agile enough to defend the Knick's quickest guards and big enough to switch onto guys like Smith and Carmello if need be

2. His composure - He reminds me a lot of Marquis Daniels in that he does such a good job of remaining composed under pressure and controlling the tempo of the game.  He never seems to allow the defense to get in his head...he always looks smooth and under control regardless of whether he's running the break or walking the ball up.

I really feel game 1 and 2 were winnable games that were lost due to mass turnovers, most of those coming as a result of our primary ball handlers (Pierce, Green, AB) struggling under pressure.

We really needed someone comfortable at bringing the ball up to keep the turnovers down, and the Terry/Williams combination at PG has worked extremely well.

If we play hard defense (as we have all series) and also control the ball well, I think we are very hard to beat.

Agreed.

Actually AB and Jeff Green have both done an exceptionally good job defensively on JR Smith when they have been on him, so I'd be perfectly happy to see a Williams + AB or Williams + Green combination out there when those guys are on the court.

TWill. ball handling and composure ,  is the foundation of what we miss from Rondo and Barbosa.

I think he needs to play ALOT.  to keep the C's in this series with NY.

TWill is fearless  .....this alone  is helpful.......he can knock heads with the biggest players on the court.

Now if Doc could just let SHAV. get a few minutes , draw some fouls on Chandler and wear him down so KG can go harder.

Like it. Pierce was actually feeding T Will to reward him for his play. Did not really work; but was a nice sign of respect from the Captain. Doc took him out at one point where he had his hands down two straight defensive plays. No excuse. He has some really bad habits; but if Doc and the others can reach him then maybe he can find a spot on this team. His shooting is better than advertized.

I would like to see him play with Bradley. Like Rondo T-Will would allow Bradley to play the two and not have to bring the ball up.

I think Bradley could finally give us something in the role that he played for this team last year.

its all about the roles

as of right now, Bradley has too much responsibilities. He should just be given one task: defend

I like in game 5 TWills is bringing up the ball and dishing. I'm more comfortable watching Williams bring up the ball than Bradley. I think this way, Bradley can put all his efforts into defending JR Smith and Felton.

The problem is T-Will isn't going to give you enough to make up for the reduced floor-spacing.

I still think we should play Lee over Bass to get the extra shooting and ball-handling on the floor to help Pierce/Green/Bradley with the pressure.

Then use a T-Will & JET backcourt off the bench.

Also from the great Jackie Mac: Celtics "can't trust Bradley right now," vets trust T-Will & Lee "lost Doc's confidence."

It's 3 things:
Celtics "can't trust AB right now" (her opinion I think)
vets trust T-Will
Lee lost Doc's confidence

This kid could be a keeper if he developed a jumper.
