we got the monkey off our back and are playing with the house's money...

Game 5:  If we win Game 5...and...I think we can...and...I think we will...then...we will the series...

Game 6:  We will not lose in the Garden...do you really think the Knicks want to come to the Garden after losing Game 5 in NY?

Game 7:  I'll take the Capt and KG in a Game 7 any day of the week...you know all that the Capt and KG is want is the proverbial "fighters chance" in Game 7

The NFL Playoffs are single-game elimination...the Celtics have to take a page out of Belichik's playbook...one game at a time...

The Red Sox came back from 3-0...and...so will the Celtics...

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
As a fan, I want to see us win Game 5. I desperately do. There isn't anything more in my heart I want to see happen, than KG/Pierce defeat all adversity time and time again, before their final run together and prove everyone wrong. But realistically, it won't happen.

Doc Rivers needs to play our bench players even if they aren't that good... KG/Pierce needs to rest. By the time Game Six comes Pierce/KG will be too gassed and tired from playing hard for 5 games.

Who knows?

If we win the entire series, I'll be so happy, and my Knicks friends will shut up for once.

Its sad to see Ray left us, but at least KG/Pierce are still together.

So many HoFers and legends are leaving us. Its crazy to believe how many years Nash, Kidd, Kobe, KG, Duncan, etc have been playing for.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

I think its a little overblown.

If we win the next game, a huge game, than maybe some dount will start to creep in.

Right now they have the same confidence as before. They barely lost in ot wothout their second best player and scorer.

I'm sure they aren't worried at all especially coming back home.

But if we build on this win and win on wed with them at full strength than I think that pressure and dount starts to come into play. Maybe a divide between coach or melo and jr

that's exactly my point...let's face it...we have to win Game 5,6 and 7...Game 5 is the most critical...because the Celtics and Knicks will be thinking what I said in my OP...that's why the pressure is on the Knicks...plus...Carmelo is obviously a great player...right now...I might even rank him as the 2nd best player in the NBA...at least he is playing like it...but...Carmelo does not have a good record in the playoffs...and...I think that when they lose Game 5...Carmelo and the Knicks will feel the pressure...Game 5,6 and 7 are all key games...but...Game 5 is obviously the biggest...we win Game 5...we will have the wind at our back with all the momentum...remember...momentum is a fickle thing...i think everyone knows this game is huge and the Knicks will def bring it...we have to weather the early storm...they say Game 5 is usually the deciding factor with the winner taking the series...we will put a new spin on it when we Game 5...Game 5 will be a momentum changer for us...we just have to take it one game at a time and get thru Game 5...then...watch out...then....everything else will take care of itself...the more i think about..I think the Knicks think this is an elimination game...a must-win game...that is why they will have the pressure...book it Dano...

Pressure is on NY ....

NOT TO CHOKE .... ;D

They got this or at least should have  .....but tttttttttt  ........ sometimes the seemingly easiest task become very difficult.

A choke would NOT be unheard of in this situation ....... KNICKS are not the HEAT .

This whole thing reminds me of last year's  ECF, when Pierce and KG heckled LBJ relentlessly... and then he finally turned into a beautiful butterfly delivered that Game 6 and embraced being the best player on the planet.

The pressure's on 'Melo to see if he can do something similar.

The Orlando Magic did a similar move to us three years ago.

We were the ones being pressured, but we shut it down in 6 games due to Nate Robinson's early big shots.

I'm still ruling that we'll get beat, but if we DO win Game 5 at Madison Square Garden, then there will be some serious talks.

Although it's easy to say that we BARELY won (or lost) to the Knicks yesterday without J.R. Smith, Carmelo Anthony being cold, and Raymond Felton going on fire.

that's exactly my point...the pressure is on carmelo and the knicks...and...the celtics and knicks both know it...pretend you are Doc, the Capt, KG and Terry...first you start out thinking if we win Game 5...then...they say to themselves...we're gonna win Game 6 in the Garden...then...they say we will win Game 7...that's how champions think...they always think they are going to win...then...they go back and say...all we have to do is win Game 5...then...they're going to say...heck yeah...we're going win Game 5...Game 5 winner will win the series...and we will win Game 5...you know the Knicks are still thinking..in the back of their minds...we are still the Celtics...and we still have the Capt and KG...

I agree but you can also say that we played historically bad offense in games 1 and 2. And were leading for much of those games. Knicks also had a season high in steals one of those games too.

It works both ways.

We've been so bad on offense those first 3 games. Somethig that we didn't come close to during the season. If we just play a little closer to our capabilites offensively than we win games 1 and 2

yea, NY has the same confidence if not more when JR Smith returns, but also the Cs have gotten some confidence as well -- which is exactly what I think they need. Going down 2-0 wasn't so bad, but 3-0 was a hit. If they can continue to play desparetly and smartly, I would be very happy just forcing a game 6.

There's always a first time for everything.

And, even if we don't win the series, at least we had Game 4. We didn't roll over and take it like the Lakers did.

Rutzan,

No disrespect intended, but do you really think Carmelo is the second best player in the NBA???????  Ahead of Lebron, Durant, etc.  You realize he is a BELOW AVERAGE defender, right???

He is not even in my top 15 right now.

lebron is obviously #1...that's why i said carmelo is 2nd best...i think carmelo is probably playing better than anyone in the playoffs except lebron...and...that includes Durant...throw out FG%...Carmelo has been dominate...nearly fouled out our whole front-line by himself...

I'd say Carmelo and Durant are having fairly similar post seasons.
