  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
A suggestion: focus on scoring, defense will come.

Hopefully JR is out and Melo labors through a 3-25 day. The Garden shall rock.

True, like I said at this point we should just chuck up a lot of shots the minute any player is within his range and there's enough space to pull up.

Enough of the high post stuff as it is clearly not working. Set picks, if the shot is there shot it, hit or miss, we have nothing else to lose.

Green is the exception, he has to drive most of the time.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Chances are slim as hell.

There's like 100 problems.

It's on Doc.

STILL STICKING WITH THE TEAM.

Doc has to try something different.

Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc, Doc....Geez!

Seems like so much wishful thinking and armchair quarterbacking this team. The man has his shortcomings. I get it. But I don't think the man has a big well of good players to dip into to fix this mess. Or a big strategic move to be made to right this ship. He's just been a target for inept playing.

It'd be different if he had a bunch of elite players who were all healthy and we was losing like this every night. Let's be honest! He's got a bunch of broken down players on this team with a bunch of B and C-List role players. POP wouldn't get this team very much further. I firmly believe this.

Sometimes I think it should be Ainge, Ainge, Ainge, Ainge, Ainge, Ainge, Ainge. I can think of Good to Great players getting away from us every year. It's been like death by 1,000 cuts when you think of all the players who have gone on from this team in the last couple of years and what we have for Doc to play with is a shadow of what the team used to be.

As for the guys still here....

Just hit some shots man!!!! I mean the team bricked a ton of shots tonight and wide open layups. Just gift shots missed over and over!

More effort and heart. As someone said in another thread earlier tonight. We used to be the underdog and the team everyone thought was going to lay down and die (us) would fight you tooth and nail for every loose ball. This team is slow! A step behind on everything. We haven't had HEART....Celtic Pride! Grit! Determination! Playmakers!

The Knicks are hitting every shot they want! Carmelo is just lights out. And the rest of their team is shooting at will too. We got to bring a dog to the fight!

I'll believe and keep watching game after game as long as we are alive. I'll keep watching. I'll keep hoping and praying we turn this thing around. I'll keep hoping and praying we find the magic and the determination to give the Knicks the worst games they've ever experienced. Wipe that smile off Anthony's face. Make those Knicks WORK! I think the Knicks have had a downright EASY PLAYOFF SERIES!!!

But I don't think this is a game of Risk and we just plug players into a rotation and all of a sudden the magic happens because someone outcoached the other coach.

I think it comes down to the players making big time effort and hitting shots and just winning all the 50/50 balls. They need a kick in the butt (From Doc)....but they also need to kick their own butt and each others butts as players if they want to live another day. And just as much as everyone feels Doc has let us down (And he has)....so has the players. And they have. But god bless them. It's time for some of these guys. I don't want to live through the rebuild like anybody. Nobody wants to be the 8th or 9th seed forever. But it's time...  :(

Very thoughtful post. The team does act like it is a game of risk in which they can plug in Player A here and mover Player B here and then everything will work (hopefully). There needs to be a method to the madness for it to work.

I hope Doc has a closed door meeting with the team and talks with them and takes suggestions on what they want to do do for their last stand.

The old Rockets team did this in the 90's to will themselves along. Maybe we need Doc to let the team have a bit more say on who plays.

That's funny, because it's never happened. Ever. In the history of the NBA.

Yes, but it did in MLB with the Red Sox and Yankees. It doesn't look good for the celtics though, with KG injured and the rest of the roster shorthanded, but they should never give up.

What can the Celtics do?

They can give the Knicks a different look instead of going to the same bad formula that hasn't worked in the first 3 games.

They can go back to their old ubuntu mantra where defense comes first and foremost.

They can start an actual ball handler and athlete at PG in Terrence Williams. They can give another hungry dude a look at starting PF in Shavlick Randolph. Avery & Bass can come off the pine and hound people after Williams and Shav give a serious spark to the starting lineup.

They can find ways to get KG back into his comfort zone shooting that beautiful 18 footer, getting PP good looks for his elbow jumper, and keep the pressure on the Knicks defensively.

They can give Lee equal or greater minutes than Terry, which would be much better all around. Lee has not had anything to say in this series, which I think is a shame. The guy can emerge . .. as we saw in the regular season. D & 3's, with the ability to take it to the rack.

The Crawford + Terry situation is really gross. I can't stand to watch it. These dudes can have 12 minutes each. No more than that. Give us a chance by using the taller, more athletic defenders (Lee, Williams, Raldolph ... even Wilcox).

Playoff games are often decided by the PJ Browns, Eddie Houses, James Poseys and other bit players that are willing to ball out, sack up, dive on the floor, inject energy and do the gritty work so that KG & PP & Jeff can succeed.

Too much Jet, Craw and no Shavlick/Wilcox make these games almost un-watchable. If the Celts don't change something up to their advantage, it'll be a really sad showing tomorrow.

Well, bobbyv is right that it has never happened in the NBA.  It has happened in baseball and hockey, however.

But this isn't baseball or hockey, and we stink.

The only way we could possibly win this series at this point is if we could find a miracle cure for Rondo AND a time machine to bring back 2008 KG & Pierce.
