Ain't over 'til it's over, and the very least we can do for these guys who have given us soooooooooo much, is support them until it is over, and not start retiring numbers or putting headstones on graves before they're dug.

Honestly, I hate these demise threads before the season's over.

Ready for a solid win on Sunday, and one game-at-a-time.

Oh, I know there's a river of pessimism, (or "realism"), flowing here, but I don't have to swim in it.

Go Celtics!

+1

I don't care what anyone says, I'm not about to quit on KG. 17 boards in 34 minutes at his age and on bad wheels, the man is a warrior. If the C's are going to get bounced they at least got to go out fighting to the bitter end.

It was a great one, they absolutely deserve another chance if they want it.  I still think we will win one game.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Two options:

1)Keep KG around as a stretch 4 or 5 and let him have 9 months off to have surgery/recover until after all star break, then let him finish his contract with Rondo. If we can't dump Pierce for assets and sign a decent FA then let him and KG have one last hoorah with Rondo.

2)let them both go and TANK hard for the super draft in 2014. Let Rondo rest and let Green lead us to a bottom 3 standing in the East. Then, trade Green and replace him with a legit superstar in the 2014 draft. Or trade Rondo and Green and get 2-3 picks including our own lottery pick in that same draft...

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I hope they come back for ONE FINAL STAND, finish up their contracts.

I think with a healthy Rondo this is a different series. I think Sullinger would have helped in a way.

One thing is for sure though, we need to draft Whitey or Steven Adams, both who can play defense. Paul has to be okay going off the bench and give way to Green, and fire Doc if he insists on this small ball lineup if we get a servicable enough big.

If this is KG and Paul's last hoorah, thanks for the memories indeed.

Our third "one last stand" haha

Isn't it our 4th? There's always a rush to be one of the first to throw dirt on the team every year, I personally don't get the motivation behind it. I'm hoping they either bring people back or try and re-load somehow, I don't have the taste for a long period of bottom-dwelling that some people do.
