It's been a nice run.  Appreciate all the memories this team has helped create.  But the KG and PP era is over.  Time to look to the future.

Agreed.
It's sad, but this day was gonna come one way or another.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I hope they come back for ONE FINAL STAND, finish up their contracts.

I think with a healthy Rondo this is a different series. I think Sullinger would have helped in a way.

One thing is for sure though, we need to draft Whitey or Steven Adams, both who can play defense. Paul has to be okay going off the bench and give way to Green, and fire Doc if he insists on this small ball lineup if we get a servicable enough big.

If this is KG and Paul's last hoorah, thanks for the memories indeed.

For 3 and a half years we were pretty awesome.  Everything since has been an extended victory lap.  I look forward to the next generation of celtics greats and the long overdue rebuild... But we might not be good again for a really really long time.  Look at the pistons for example...

Wish we could have seen KG and PP win one more time. Otherwise it was a great run to bring this city an NBA championship in 08. Something that we haven't seen in over 2 decades.. Thanks for the memories.

Now its time to look forward.

But I hope we bounce back quick.
The Eastern Conference is getting so much better with all these versatile wing players. Lebron,Melo,Rudy Gay, Granger, Luol Deng.

I hope Green steps it up big time, I know he already has, but we need more out of him.

I'm not ready to start saying my goodbyes just yet.  Obviously, our chances of getting past the Knicks aren't very high, but I'm hoping we can claw our way back in and at least make them sweat a little bit.

Anything is possible!!!!!

No more stands, please. Their window is closed. Let PP and KG retire and cherish them. Don't run them down the ground. Do it for the sake of both the Celtics and the Big 2. They will forever be missed.

It's time to get used to seeing Rajon Rondo walking in last during the Celtics home game introductions, as the announcer addresses him "From Kentucky, the captain #9 Rajon Rondo!!"

I don't see why not. They have one more in them with Rondo.

I agree that they can't carry the team on their backs, but they can certainly lift some of it while Rondo gets the big chunk of the heavy lifting. With Rondo back we dont have to run them on the ground, all the while we can use their leadership along the way.

There's One Final Stand. And that's next year.

Is it really smart to give all the heavy lifting to a guy coming off a torn ACL though?

I hope I'm wrong, but I think it'll take Rondo a while before he gets back to his old self again on the court.

He does have more than enough time to heal up. And ACL injuries are not career threatening anymore, a ton of athletes came back strong after such injuries.

It will take time, but he has that time, we should be fine. With KG and Paul helping out, smart drafting and Doc to stop being stubborn about this small ball thing, we still have enough to make a deep playoff push with Rondo and this crew, for one final time.

Ain't over 'til it's over, and the very least we can do for these guys who have given us soooooooooo much, is support them until it is over, and not start retiring numbers or putting headstones on graves before they're dug.

Honestly, I hate these demise threads before the season's over.

Ready for a solid win on Sunday, and one game-at-a-time.

Oh, I know there's a river of pessimism, (or "realism"), flowing here, but I don't have to swim in it.

Go Celtics!

Dang you guys are making me sad. Getting chills over here. It's sad, but the end is near. I'm gonna miss watching Pierce and KG. I'm a young dude, so Pierce to me is like Bird/Russell is for all you older cats.

30 years from now when I'm in my 50's, I'll tell my grandkids about all the great memories watching them play live in the "old TD Garden."
