I'd like to see Ainge go to the Lakers.  It's only fair.

Danny sucks at big men. I can't remember the last good one he picked up. It must be pretty painful to see how those two guys are contributing, as they surely would have on this C's team with KG.
Perkins
KG
P.J. Brown
Shaq
Rasheed Wallace, I know that ones debatable.
Perkins was a project, just like Fab Melo. KG helped Perkins' development all by himself after arriving in Boston far more than the team contributed in his development ever since he was drafted.
KG was the only legitimate big man and that also came due to Kevin McHale being a former celtic.
You're making it sound like Brown accomplished a lot here.
Shaq wanted to come here, all Ainge had to was sign him.
Wallace was a ring chaser and went where ever there was a chance.

Apologize for not adding in the last few years

Justify them however you want.  The point is that Ainge made the right decision by signing them.  I'd add Glen Davis and probably Jared Sullinger to the list as well.

But missing on KMart is indefensible.

I've said this a number of times, but I don't think either of those guys wanted to play for a mediocre Celtics team missing their best player.

Birdman and K-Mart ended up playing big roles for contenders because that's where they wanted to go.

So let me make sure I understand this. Danny brings Boston it's first title in 20 years and the Celtics are a strong playoff team for years after that and now he needs to go? And just who do you want to replace him to make everything better?

Unless it's Larry Bird, then I'm ok with it.

Objection. K-Mart did not specifically WANTED to go to New York. K-Mart just WANTED a team to hire him and get a job. He's doing a good job now. Not sure about Birdman, but I suspect the similar reason.

Both K-Mart and Birdman are dropping dueces on Danny Ainge. Even Andray Blatche.

Doc pretty much let Darko walk away. And Danny traded away Jason Collins. I know they aren't exactly tha big men we want on this team but they gave away what size they had and passed up on size that was available.

Both players held out for a while and then just happened to join the two best teams in the Eastern Conference.  Either all of the other teams in the league foolishly chose not to hire them, or K-Mart and Birdman were waiting to get a spot on two of the best teams in the league.

I'll take a "project" big man in the modern NBA anyway.
Brown made some huge plays in the Finals. Huge.

K Mart publicly said he wanted to come here, so...

I can't find the link for it right now, but I remember his agent saying that they are trying to get something done with the C's and Martin himself saying that we had a done deal but they backed out at the last minute.

No one is calling for Ainge to go. We are just discussing his failure to not sign someone who is destroying us because we gave him a deal and then backed out at the last second.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Wouldn't have made the difference in this season. It would've helped, but we got the best first round matchup we could've asked for on paper, and 20 mins of Keynon Martin wouldn't have turned this one or the last one into a win.

At least that's how Im dealing with it now. I was okay with it then.

Would not have helped this teams 2nd half offense.

This team misses the guy that can make the offense go in the big game.  They miss Rondo.

(yes, they could use another big as well, but it is offense that is the biggest issue in the 2nd half)
