3rd choice for minutes behind Terry and Crawford. I think their scoring and shooting ability is more important for a team with limited firepower than T-Will's defense.
If both players continue to struggle, I would turn to T-Will but not before then.
Doc is going to give both of them a chance. We are going to have to in order to give Green some rest and T Will is going to have to guard Kidd or JR Smith. In one of these games we're going to see Bradley in early foul trouble which will force T Will into the game to guard Felton or JR Smith.
Unfortunately Crawford is just a fair liability against the Knicks because of their ball movement.
Even Jason Kidd at age 40 was just destroying him off picks and scored a few easy threes or was wide open, forcing us to pick him up and leaving our other defender's man wide open for a three.
If we didn't insert Crawford there's a large possibility that we going into half time with a 10+ lead.
Combine that with Avery's turnovers and we are up by 16-20 points easily.
This loss to the Knicks screams out lost opportunity but thankfully there were enough good signs for us to make adjustments for a big game 2.
T Will's size and strength will be vital in guarding JR Smith and bullying him- particularly if Avery gets into foul trouble.
I think Doc should throw both T Will and Avery at JR Smith to mix it up and keep him working.
T Will can also get to the hole which is what we need. Give him some burn in the 2nd quarter and let him go to work in the third if Avery picks up foul 3 or 4 early.
