so tired of the rondo haters. Rondo is larry bird-like in the playoffs when it matters, and theres not that many people who can play at that level

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
If you seriously think Mario Chalmers is better, then I have nothing to say to you.

I guarantee you a 1,000 dollars Lebron James, or any other team except the Clippers would beg to have Rondo on their team right about now.

People also forget KG/Paul Pierce aren't the same as 2008/2009. Rondo stepped up his game to make for the deficiencies of our two aging superstars.

Does anyone still remember when Rondo played with one hand? Or the outstanding game against the Miami Heat? Or actually all of them? Against the Cavs?

How quick people forget the impact Rondo had.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

If Rondo didn't get hurt, the Celtics might not even be in the playoffs!
Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

That probably sounds reasonable to someone who thinks the Celts getting worse since 07-08 is due to Rondo taking a bigger role and not because of the significant drop in play from KG/PP/RA.

You're right, because before he got injured, Jet was making his WIDE OPEN shots, PP wasn't going through a slump, CLee was making his corner 3's, AB was back in the rotation (for more than a couple weeks), Jeff was completely healthy, Bass wasn't sucking and didn't get replaced by a Rookie...it was all Rondo (who wasn't dealing with injuries himself).  ::)

Even with that laundry list you're forgetting about the defense that we were playing, especially with KG on the bench.

If Rondo was playing I think we would smash the Knicks. I have high hopes for a core of Rondo, Bradley, Green, Sully and draft picks in the future.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

People forget Rondo absolutely destroyed the Knicks in 2011, and has had great success against them in past years (triple doubles in both 2012 and 2013).

If we had him, I don't doubt we would've beaten the Knicks in 5.

Without him, it's going to take 6 or 7 games, but I like our chances.

I can't believe it's gotten to the point where I can barely tell if people are trolling or not.

Ask anyone on the Celtics if they would want to have Rondo healthy and playing right now and they would say yes. Ask anyone else in the NBA if they would rather play a Celtics team with or without Rondo and I guarantee you that they will pick the latter.

Blackenstone (sp?) just summed it up on Around the Horn.

Tony: What do the Celtics need to do tonight to change the series?

Kevin: Create a miracle drug to get Rondo back. They need better point guard play.

Im hoping that the "better without Rondo" debate can finally be settled as false? Or do some out there STILL believe this ridiculous statement is true?

Lol at miracle drug.
And unfortunately yes, there are some who emphatically believe we're better without him, even now.

Almost like this team could use a point guard, huh?
