Today lost beacuse of Rondo or beacuse of Carmelo? ::) :o
I'd say more of Rondo. Carmelo got his points on inefficient shooting. I'll take that any day. What we needed was a playmaker when the game slows down. Cue All-star point guard.

Guys...use your brain please... before 4 qrt Cs lead 70-63...after that NYK played a terrible defence

Mixture of both..When scoring was needed the most they couldn't (8 pts in a qtr..and they set a Playoff record)they couldn't execute in the half court and couldn't get off simple passes because of the ball handling. They're going to miss Rondo in the playoffs with his playmaking skills. They're going to keep pressing our guards and we may have to get use to seeing those high TO's unless they figure something out.

Try using yours. Did you watch the 4th quarter? If that didn't show how much we need Rondo, I don't know what does. 8 freaking points...

We have, but we usually can at least make some plays in the fourth quarter. When's the last time you saw us score this low amount of points in the playoffs in the 4th or any quarter?

we scored 8 with Rondo once. in February I think. that was the 3rd quarter.
Knicks scored 18 pts. It's not like they blew us out that quarter. The defense was fair. I think it makes more sense to take a look at the wide open shots we missed vs what we woulda done with a completely different team. that changes the whole game and not necessarily for the better.

beginning of the fourth was the bench. we know they didn't do anything. JG/KG/PP combined for 3-8 shooting. no one else was shooting. AB/BB missed their 2 or 3 shots. JET...come on. And we did ourselves no favors with turnovers.

If we limit the TOs and make a handful more shots, we win. I don't think that's a reason to go nuts and start this whole Rondo thing. Rondo does have turnovers guys, some of which are just as frustrating as the ones we saw tonight. Not all the time are we in the right places when Rondo plays, either. I think we have this fantastical image of the guy, which is fine. I just don't think he changes all our 'issues'...especially not magically.

"We are better without Rondo,"  "Rondo made us worse,"  "We are better without Rondo."

All Rondo haters, do you miss him yet?

I'm definelty not a hater but I was on the fence as to whether the cs need to build movin past pp and kg with or without rondo. Tonight reminded me again what rondo bring to a playoff game. The stupid turnovers that killed us would not have been there with rondo running the point and the Knicks guards would have really struggled to stop his penetration.

I think that Rondo haters are in the minority here. 75% of Celticsblog would argue that our chances of winning this series would increase dramatically if he were playing right now.

I feel you on that. That's one of the things Doc talked about after he went down and we knew it would be different without him in the playoffs. Now they have to find another way to win and maybe find the basket in the hoop just a little.

Just because the C's have one of the worst ball handlers and decision makers in the entire NBA running point, that doesn't mean they need Rondo out there to them. It just means they need a less incompetent person running the point. Courtney Lee, Williams, or Crawford are probably less incompetent running the point than Bradley.

That's kind of like saying if our backup bigs weren't so incompetent we wouldn't need KG. If you've been watching the Celts in the playoffs over the last few years thinking they'd be fine with a semi-competent pg instead of Rondo then I don't know what to say.
