Ainge should get at least 3 bigmen over 6'10 that are not allergic to boxing out and getting rebounds.

Easier typed than done.

Still a glaring need.
I've been a Celtics fan for a long time, and I doubt that Danny Ainge will pull this off, but only one can hope.

Sullinger and Randolph

One more?

Sully is 6'9", bro

So is David West, Dennis Rodman, and Charles Barkley at 6'4(his real height)
But they are great rebounders and good in the paint.

Bro...

Sullinger was a rookie, and inured, and Randolph sucks

I would like to see you play Randolph 1 on 1.

He's not the greatest but he doesn't "suck" as you put it.
He is a good back up big man. Gets you rebounds gives you hustle and can score when needed.

Of course he would crush me, I'm 5'9 with a 2 inch vertical!  But as an NBA player he sucks. He doesn't deserve a roster spot on a team that hopes to contend. That's on Ainge. He should have sent Bradley packing in a deal for Gortat or Cousins.

Scott Pollard "sucked" but he was in the 2007-2008 Celtic team.

Considering that Ainge signed Mark Blount to a 6 year 41 million dollar deal once upon a time, maybe I shouldn't be surprised that Ainge valued Bass so much.  He clearly has a thing for bigs who can shoot jumpers but can't rebound, pass and are soft as crap.

Pollard was a legit NBA player who could be trusted on defense. Decent for a 12th man. Randolph is a D-league player who will be back in China before you know it.

LOL. I know right.

Enough with the undersized over paid jump shooting stretch bigs.
We need to get baskets inside the paint more. I'm sick and tired of "small ball"

Jason Collins was a legit big man who would have helped off the bench in the playoffs, but Ainge went and traded him for another SG.

12 year NBA vet vs a guy we picked up from the China league scrap heap. Yep, I'll take my chances with the 12 year NBA vet.

Also, you are totally missing the point! We counted on Pollard for NOTHING! You are saying we should have counted on Randolph off the bench in the playoffs, which you can't do if you hope to contend. Randolph as your 12th man is another story.

Sullinger may only be 6:9 but the kid can rebound and has some nice post moves and is tough in the paint. he was averaging 10/10 before his injury..

its easy to blame doc for the lack of rebounding..but he can only do so much with the horses he was given...if Doc had a big like Hibbert/gasol i'm sure he would play them

Cool story.
I'd take Shavlik in his current state, than Scot Pollard in 2007-08.

To each his own I guess.

Stop the OT talk, and leave this thread for discussing the current games in the NBA playoffs.

New York looks almost nothing like they did in the final stretch of the regular season.

While I understand that the pace slows down in the playoffs historically, they should at least be attempting to play the style that made them a 55 win team... right?
